We will miss you all at Christmas but we will be thinking of you all together in Austria. Love You, Aunt Betty |

How nice to get a preview of what Vienna looks like for Christmas! |

I hope you're making a list of the best places to visit so that you can take us there, too! BTW, I have a problem with the Black-Tailed Prairie Dog - he has a brown tail.... |
| 16th October 2006 Joyous | Mercedes-Benz and Beer - From: Last month... I absolutely love your pictures! Especially the one with the rose and the one with the fisherman. I have to say I`m jealous that you got to go to the Mercedes-Benz museum, it was closed when I was there. I think the beer might be 1 liter no matter what time of year at a beer garden. At least that`s what it was in Munich when I was there. (I didn`t have any though). That`s one gian pretzel. Yikes. Keep having a great time. |
| 29th September 2006 Kelly | - From: Felt the need to share... It's neat. Your hair doesn't look too bad either. |

| 12th September 2006 AnnieG | Giant Water Lilies - From: Installment #2 - Amsterdam I would like to thank my wonderful brother for always being there for me when I have a plant question. :-) I'm glad to hear how close I was with my description! Giant Water Lilies have always impressed me, and they come from the Amazon...well, now we know why they're so big! Now, it seems there was mention of a website, too, but it didn't quite make it into the post...maybe we'll get another posting here soon and we can all see this man on a pad! |
| 11th September 2006 Jon Groelz | Jealous - From: Installment #2 - Amsterdam Hey Kiddo, Those are Giant Water Lilies (Victoria amazonica). They come from the Amazon. Here's a web site where you can find a little more information. There's even a picture of a man standing on one! It's pretty incredible. I think this is a recurring theme in my comments, but I can't tell you how jealous I am of your travels! Thanks for taking the time to tell us all about them. Your writing just flows and it seems like you're here standing next to me telling me all about it! Keep it up, I can't wait for the next installment of the Groelz Express! Incidentally, did you get a CD of their Big Band music while you were there? I can't wait to raid your music collection upon your return! Keep up the good work and enjoy yourself! LY, Jon |
| 11th September 2006 Jewels | I got your postcard today! - From: Installment #2 - Amsterdam I am so jealous of all the art you've gotten to see already. Oh the Rembrants, they just aren't the same on slides... I did get to see one or two when I was in high school and went to D.C. but in Amsterdam! I really enjoyed your postcard. The painting and then what you wrote on the back made me think of our conversations when it comes to religion in general. I miss those talks! I anxiously await the next update on the Groelz Express! |
| 9th September 2006 Karen | latkes - From: Installment #1 - Cologne The Reibekuchen looks like potato latkes, which are eaten with applesauce. I made them once, years ago. Yummy. LOVE the photographs! XO, Karen |
| 8th September 2006 Grandpa | Investment - From: Installment #1 - Cologne Annie: We are proud of you. You are making that trip an investment rather than an expense. You are doing so much learning and have the ability to share it. Grandma doesn't think, she would like the Reibekuchen, but I would. Your pictures are great, keep up the good work. Love Ya. Grandma & Grandpa |
| 7th September 2006 Jon Groelz | Wow! - From: Installment #1 - Cologne That's pretty cool kiddo! I don't know much about the places your visiting, but I'm quite jealous! | 7th September 2006 Kathee | New Career for you - From: Installment #1 - Cologne Annie, you should be a travel writer. I feel like I'm there with you every moment. Thank you. I can't wait for the other cities. |

| 22nd August 2006 Jon | Baking... - From: I can bake!!! Maybe you should see if you can spend more time in that bakery. You could work there on those days that you have a little time to kill, but not enough time to travel. Like a rainy afternoon where you have an hour or two and no plans...You could feed yourself pretty well if you swapped them an hour of work for a loaf of bread and some breakfast pastries or quiche...do they do quiche there? It was among my favorite bakery items in New Zealand. Besides, think of all the cool baking skills you'd learn! You can come back and teach me any and all of that stuff! LY Kiddo! Keep the pictures and stories coming! Jon |
| 22nd August 2006 Boyd Groelz | Amsterdam - From: New Experiences When I was is Amsterdam in 1954 I spent several nights in a hotel call t"Ye Olds Nickel"or something like that. If it's still there have a beer for me! |

| 21st August 2006 Sandy | Roses - From: New Experiences Hi Annie, The rose looks so fresh I think I can almost smell it. Got a Skype from Michael this morning who says you have made plans with him for this Christmas season. Good. I am enjoying your mesages so keep them coming. Sandy |
| 16th August 2006 Kali | - From: New Experiences The town looks absoluetly beautiful. Though I wouldn't want to have to have spiders everywhere. :P I suppose it is a small price to pay though for all of the other experience you are having. :D I head back to school next week and am going to miss you. I get to go back and see everyone else... but no Annie. Which means no walking/talking buddy. I'm going to miss our late night walks to talk. |
| 16th August 2006 Karen Bartholomew | photos - From: New Experiences I'm very impressed with your photographic skills! The pictures add so much to the delightful travel log. I'm curious to know if this blog program makes it easy to add the photos, with captions. I assume so. I'm SUCH a technophobe! XO, Karen |
| 16th August 2006 AnnieG | :-) - From: Nürnberg Kali - As a matter of fact, I did get to see the inside of the church, and yes, it was just as intricate as the outside. It was positively gorgeous! Grandma & Grandpa - I have to admit I'm a bit envious. Spending the day at the zoo with Grandpa is among my fondest memories. I always had a wonderful time, and I hope Mary feels the same. Did you, by chance, feed the fish under the bridge? :-) |
| 16th August 2006 AnnieG | Discovery - From: New Experiences I just discovered that I'm able to respond to your comments, which is a very nice feature. | 16th August 2006 Jon | Nearby Cities - From: New Experiences That reminds me Annie, when you make it to Austria, Owen Day is in Slovakia about 30mins away from you by riverboat. He says you can just hire a boat and be there in a half an hour...he'll be there for a while so I'm sure you'll see him! LY, Jon |
| 15th August 2006 Kathee | I love your blogs - From: New Experiences I feel like I'm touring with you as you write. What a great experience for us both. Thank you for sharing |

| 9th August 2006 Kali | :) - From: Nürnberg That church is beautiful... did you get to see the inside of it? I bet that if the outside was that intricate then the inside much have been absolutely breath-taking. The toy places sounds pretty cool as well. Hopefully turning that brass ring will bring you some good luck. It was great hearing about your weekend adventures! Glad you are having a good time. :) Miss you. |
| 8th August 2006 Brenda Groelz | Gluck! - From: Nürnberg Nurnberg looks beautiful. I'm not sure it qualifies as a close town, if it took you a couple of hours by train, but you're doing what I would...traveling on the weekends. Good for you. Sounds like we're going to have to perfect spaetzel making when you get back. Glad you're having fun. Love, Mom |
