Off at 5am tomorrow to Machu Pichu so hope for sunshine. love Ann and Iain x
Super-fit, super-slim!!!!!! Hi you two, thanks for the latest set of photos. New Zealand does look amazing. We've been looking at some of your earlier shots & your energetic schedule has obviously meant you've shed a load of timber (Iain) & a dress size (ann .....ok and Iain!!). Means you get a new wardrobe when back in blighty! There'll be so much to tell us about & tempt us to follow some of your tracks Glad you saw some lovely weather down south- makes up for some of the grot in Asia!
We've got kate & Martyn coming for dinner tonight so no doubt she will be able to fill in some of the gaps
Looking good Thanks so much for the postcard you sent via Gina (not seen it yet but she told me about it)! Glad you are enjoying OZ and NZ - I must admit I would rather be there than your Indonesian travels. You both look really well, travelling must agree with you. Take care - where next? xxxx
Hi Just got back from a fab time in Sri Lanka we loved it but I couldn't live out of a bag for 6months that's for sure!!!! Glad you are still enjoying things time is speeding by now and still talking!!!! Keep posting lots of love Sue and Grahame xxxxx
Hi from Ray and Ali Good to see you are having a fantastic time. Ali is envious of the Singapore Sling at Raffles and I want a Belam pie- I bet Ann had more than one of them! It's a few degrees above freezing here and Ali is really fed up with me because the central heating has packed up (she owns loads of jumpers- stop moaning) Happy travelling.
Australian Food Hello Ann and Iain - pleased to hear that you're still talking after all these adventures. It really does seem as though you are having the trip of a lifetime. Are the Aussies practicing eating Humble Pie - what with the Ashes starting only a few months away. We must make sure that we are all back in the UK for that. Best wishes from another in the southern hemisphere.
Hi from Di Hi to you both. Great to get your blogs and loads of photo's; I like the one on Diana's seat - very appropriate with Valentine's day approaching! Make sure you get plenty of both of you together on the rest of your travels. India looks beautiful and very diverse. I heard you were dropping in to Bill and Astrid's in Singapore - have fun. Michael gets home on 10th April, not long now. safe travelling. xx
Hope you are taking care!! Hi you two hope you have got over your ordeal when looking for the hotel and you are enjoying India and staying safe!! Off to Sri Lanka on 9th February - really looking forward to it. Am keeping in touch with Kate and she knows where we are if she needs us. Take care looking forward to your next instalment. Lots of love Sue and Grahame xxxxx
Hi Hi to you both and Happy New Year. Finally found my way to this blog site. Sounds like you are having a fantastic time with lots of new experiences. The lost hotel situation obviously not one you want to repeat. We are back from our R& R in St Lucia, lovely to escape to the sunshine but all went by too quickly- we also did a bit of walking in the rainforest ( in Dominica) it lived up to it's name and we were absolutely drenched, but fortunately not too humid.
We will continue to follow your adventures- your description of India has made me even more determined to go there sometime. Take care . Lots of love Ali & Ray
Hi guys. We are experiencing extreme snow and freezing conditions. I foolishly left home at 6pm to go to Becs party, it took an hour to get there and it was the most petrifying drive of my life. At one point I had to use the central reservation to stop me from skidding into another car! I think the whole country is in a winter wonderla
nd! It is beautiful and lovely but not if u have to drive! Anyway bed time now. Missing you loads. Home time soon xx x x x x xx x x

Hope you've had a great Christmas and are now scrubbed up, ready for the next part of the journey. Glad the washing line came in handy, it would have been a shame to have carried such a bulky item all that way if it had been no use!! Weather here is still wet and the ground is really muddy, not too cold though. We're enjoying the blog but I'm not good at leaving comments. Keep blogging and putting up photos, we love to hear your news. Jen xxx
I don't believe it!! Hi Ann and Iain,
have been reading your blog with interest. Can this be the same Ann Gibson that baulks at camping in Cornwall? Surely it must be some kind of elaborate hoax to get out of the stress of Christmas, and you are really holed up in some luxury spa hotel in Harrogate! We have all the family, including my Mum and Dad, coming to us for Christmas day - that's if they can get through the flood water - so will have a real house full. Hopefully we will be able to catch up with you sometime in the summer, which seems a long way off but sure it will come around quickly, at least we are past the shortest day now. Anyway, hope you both have a wonderful Christmas. Rob XX
Having secured a rental on our property from November 3rd we are escaping to the Southern hemisphere for 6 months. Matt is taking us and our back packs to Kate and Martyn's home in Nottingham for a family celebration inc fireworks! On November 6th we fly to Hanoi in Vietnam via a night in Bangkok. Iain and I planned this a couple of months back but only found tenants a couple of weeks ago so it's been manic, booking landlord insurance, travel ins, having innoculations against everything!! Now we feel a mixture of incredulity and excitement as the days rush by with visits to Indian Consulate in... full info
