There's only so much time that one can spend in a village, so my cousin and I decided to take a few days trip to Karpacz, which is about a 2 hours drive from Wrocław, near the larger city of Jelenia Góra. Karpacz is a lovely small town nestled in the Karkonosze, a smaller mountain range in southwestern Poland. The highest point here is Śnieżka, which is 1603m high and right on the Czech/Polish border. So I'm supposed to study abroad at the University of York (UK) in the fall, but my semester starts in October! Not knowing what to do with my time after my summer research position ends, I decided to go to Europe to see family, friends, and travel around a bit. I was born in Poland and immigrated to the States when I was young... but I travel there almost every summer.
