Life in the Tropics Hello Hello family, friends and anyone who has somehow found this page in the middle of the internet. If you don't know me then no doubt the following blog may be a little dissapointing (and indeed that could be the case even if you do know me) unless you just fancy hearing about an English backpacker's perspective on living in Cairns after spending the last year living in Melbourne and in that case you have come to the right place, which would be a pretty huge conincidence but then if traveling and living abroad for over two years now has taught me anything, and I like to think it must have, its that crazy stuff happens every day! Right, didnt intend on starting my first blog in about 6 months with such ... read more

Doesn't time fly Wow! I've been in Australia for a year! (to the day on 1st september.) That is mental! There is no point of trying to retrospectivly blog my year. On one hand too much has happened and on teh other i have essentially just been working, not travelling so its not really the same (which is why the few and far between updates on here finally fizzled out totally.) Here is a brief, annecdoteless summary! Have had an amazing time. 5 Months in Sydney, mostly working in HOME (huge nightclub) and loving it. Made some seriously awsome mates, backpackers and locals. Lived on Bondii beach for 6 weeks in middle of summer and spent final 2 months over xmas living in cool flat in CBD (Darlinghurst) and had incredible time. In seeing Mum and ... read more

I didnt really scratch the surface and infact recounts roughly what I was doing nearly a year ago. I am about to write a blog summing up what Im doing right now as opposed to saying what ive done as its too late for that but thought i may as well publish this anyway, why not? Real update to follow shortly! HOME sweet HOME - Part One So here I am again, over 14months since I left English shores about to try to update you on where and what the hell I've been doing these last few months! I know that I finished up my previous blog leaving New ... read more

Queenstown Hello! I've just received an email from the travelblgo website asking me to come back as its been over 2 months since I even logged in. I think thats a sign for me to write a blog although way more than ever before I am no longer writing about recent events but the past. Never the less, I still wont leave a hole in what I've done so here is gonna be a quick summary of what I got up to in the last four or five weeks I was in New Zealand for. This is basically covering the mnoth of August as on 1st of Septemner I arrived in Sydney where I remained untill now. Ifact about 32 mins ago I booked a one way flight out of here to leave a week on ... read more

Everyone should go to the South Island of New Zealand. Seriously, its stunning Right, so here is the next update, and as promised only nine days since the last one - incredible! This time I am actually going to finish off a round up of my adventures in New Zealand which will lead me on to arriving in Sydney (where I still am now!) So after spending a little of two weeks on the North Island, we (we being myself and all the other people traveling with me on the Kiwi Bus) headed across the sea to the South Island to spend a night in the town of Nelson. I didnt do too much here except go a for a little walk up a hill to the official geographical centre of New Zealand which was pretty ... read more

Slack Blogger Okay, so however far behind I've been with these blogs in the past this is the furthest away I've been for sure. The last time I published a blog was 83 days ago which is pretty shocking really so firstly a sorry to anyone who has been checking the page to find nothing new. Anyway, what I'm gonna cover today, in attempt to catch up with my travels is to race through the two months I spent in New Zealand over July and August. Seeing as we are now somehow in November I'm gonna be racking my brains but regardless, here goes! So after spending the best part of 6months In glorious equitorial, tropical climates I arrived on July 9th into Auckland to a lovely temperature of 6 degrees. I have never been that ... read more

Fiji Okay, so its time to talk about Fiji. As usual I'm a good few weeks behind, infact I left Fiji nearly 6 weeks ago, and after all I've been doing in New Zealand it seems like a lot more longer than that even. Anyway, here we go... So, after over 5 months in Asia, finishing with a hectic few days in Hong Kong and Macau, it was finally tiem to say goodbye to the "first stop" of my journey and head on to Fiji. After booking the whole thing so long ago and then messing around with my flights I wasnt even sure how long I was due to stay in Fiji. It turned out to be 16 days which, just about all of which were fantastic. The journey over was long, as after waiting ... read more

The End of Asia So, as planned I'm continuing in my catch up quest to get this up to date with my travels. Since the last blog I've been traveling round the North Island of New Zealand which has been amazing so far. Wont go into too many deatails although I feel I should let you all know I managed a Sky Dive Yesterday over Lake Taupo which was amazing. Dropped out of a little plane from 15,000ft and over a minute of freefall before the parachute opens, awesome! Anyway, for now I'm just gonna try and cover my few days in Macau and Hong Kong before I finally flew out of Asia. It was cheaper for me to fly to Macau than Hong Kong so I ended up booking a ticket there instead as als ... read more

Sabai dee mai kwap? Okay, mega catch up time! Yesterday I arrived in New Zealand annd its FREEZING here. Really excited to start exploring as looks like there is loads to do but another benefit of re-entering eth western world is cheaper and way faster internet connections so hopefully I can claw back soem of the time I've lost. I reckon I'm about 3 blog entrys behind to catch up fully so without further ado here is the first. This will cover my last month in Thailand where I was living in Khao Lak, so here we go. As I mentioned at the end of my last blog, through pretty much random chance I ended up deciding to do a couple of weeks work as a volunteer English teacher in the town of Khao Lak on ... read more
