Hello everyone As most of you already know by now I am back in Calgary- and have been for about 3 weeks now. The last month of travelling was really busy, and the internet connections were pretty dodgy in a lot of places- thus i never kept you all upto date on my adventure... but now I will! I already completed a blog for Ireland so I wont bore you with more details from that but overall it was a great country to visit. The people are all very friendly, there is always beer to be drank, the scenery is beautiful [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone I know its been a really long time since the last update but after my huge adventure in April i took some time to enjoy Glasgow as well as a week trip to Spain where I lounged on the beach and partyed the whole time! I will now give you all a quick update of my last 2 weeks! Now I am on my 1 month backpacking adventure with Carly and so far we have filled our time quiet well! She came into Glasgow on the same day I finished my exams (which all went well i think) then [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone, The reason why I haven’t updated you on my adventures over here for the past few weeks is because I have been out and about traveling new parts of Europe over our Easter Break (of 2 weeks). My adventure began in Rome, which I found to be a truly beautiful city, followed by a trip to Maione (where my grandma and grandpa were born). I then began exploring other countries and visited some friends in France and finally ended it off with a quick trip to London. Some of you are probably thinking that "Andrea has gone crazy because [View Full Entry]

This blog update is not quiet as exciting as the others- I havent left Glasgow since my last 'skiing adventure' but am trying to see as much of my new hometown as I can. The weather here has been up and down alot over the past month- I have seen snow, sun and lots of rain but its starting to warm up now :) Glasgow has just implemented a smoking ban on pubs, restaurants and bars so no more reaking of tobacco- which will be great! My job at PDQ is still going great- its nice to have the extra cash [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone Its really hard to beleive that I have been over here for almost 2 months now- WOW. Over the past 2 weeks I have been up north in the highlands on 2 seperate occasions. 1. Skiing: I'm sure many of you probably had no idea that there was even enough snow up here to ski- well dont worry becuase I didnt know that until 2 weeks ago either. I met a Scottish girl (Ruth) in one of my classes and she kept talking about skiing in the highlands. When she found out that I knew how to ski she [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone, Sorry that it has been such a long time since the last update but up until last weekend I hadnt been doing anything worthy of adding a blog for. On Valentines day my flat mates and I threw an ANTI- valentines day bash becuase it seemed to be an appropriate theme for everyone! We made tons of food and not enough vodka but it was still a good night for everyone. Now for the exciting part... I went to Sweden this past weekend with 11 other exchange students (mostly Canadians!). On early Friday morning we left for Prestick airport [View Full Entry]

My first view of Sweden... lol

This past Sunday I attended my very first Six Nations Rugby Match in Edinburough. The exchange advisor from my University, Jim Wilson, met all the interested students at the bus station Sunday morning and got us all organized for the hour bus ride over there. On the drive over there I got to see the "ghetto" of Glasgow, a sheep farm, a high security prison and lots and lots of garbage on the side of the motorway. As we approached the stadium the number of people on the streets started to multiply. Becuase the game was France vs. Scotland we saw [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone back in Canada! I have made it through my first 2 weeks here and have already learned alot about this country..... * asking for a "Toilet" is not considered a rude way to ask for a bathroom- i am still getting used to this one * ignore the crosswalks even if there are police right next to you- or else you will stand there for 5 minutes waiting for the green man to show up * show up 5 minutes late for classes and you will still beat the professor there * scottish traditional dancing is more tiring then [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone Sorry this has taken so long for me to post but the internet here is not easy to access and it randomly cuts out sometimes . So I have been in the beautiful city of Glasgow for just over a week now and its been excellent everyday. I started out by staying the the Travel Inn for 4 nights after a long flight over from Calgary. My first few days were filled with exploring my new home and meeting with other exchange students. My first weekend here involved a trip to the more eastern city of Edinburough. A friend [View Full Entry]
