Hey all! Well we managed to get out of China! It wasn't too bad looking back (considering the places we went through were just a stop-gap to get to Vietnam and not tourist hotspots) but the fact that Amy's highlight of the place was reaching the border and Ryan's was finding out Arsenal had gone top of the premier league sort of sums it up... Literally the most mental border crossing to Vietnam anyone could fathom. We got a coach to it and they drove us in a little golf buggy (!) to the Chinese customs, which was all very nice. Asia » China » Guangxi » Nanning January 22nd 2010

Hi all, Another brief note to say we're now spending our final night in China in the town of Nanning which is near the Vietnam border. So we left Guangzhou pretty quickly, and thankfully Nanning is a much cleaner, friendlier place, full of trees and green (ish) avenues. Although everyone still stares at us as ... read more

Hello again, another brief entry as we've just woken up and are moving on to China this morning, but have just about had time to upload a few photos of Hong Kong... it is a great place, a complete mix of everything which is English and Asian. It has been warm and mostly sunny, around 20 degrees. The views from the edge of the island as you look across to the mainland are fantastic, and bettered by the day and night views which we saw after getting the tram up to Victoria Peak, where we spent a fair few hours eating and walking around yesterday. A and R x... read more
