Hey guys! I know that yall are getting excited for school to be out! Time goes by so fast!!! Let me know the exact date that yall are done with school! Have you gone on all of your field trips yet (to the baseball game, the park, etc)? How was that? That would have been fun to have been there to go with you all! Tomorrow is my last day in Avila. I'm leaving in the evening to go to Madrid and then I'm traveling for about 3.5 weeks! Some of my really good friends are coming over in a little [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! I am sorry that it has taken me this long to write again! Things got kind of busy here for a week because my professor from the Overseas Program was visiting us here! It was so good to see her and a lot of fun to show her around Avila and my school. She was very impressed with how all of us are doing in Avila and at our schools! The past few weeks here have been very nice considering the amount of vacation time I have gotten. As you all know, I went around Europe for a little [View Full Entry]

Hey guys! I hope that everyone is doing well! I am finally back in Spain and somewhat glad to be back to the slower pace of life here. Last week was a fun, but exhausting week. Like I said, Prague in the Czech Republic was a great city. The set up really made it a beautiful city. One of the most interesting things that I did while there was visit a communist museum. The country was communist until 1989. Not too long ago. It was interesting to read about their history (in English) and watch some videos on what life was [View Full Entry]

Hey guys! I hope that yall are doing well! Thank you for your comments, Ayrica, Acacia, Jade and Tasha (I think that is everyone). I really enjoy reading them! It's great to hear from yall! This past weekend was a really fun one! The other 3 Americans and I went to Salamanca which is a city/town a little bigger than Avila. It took approximately an hour to get there by train. The weather was perfect to spend the day walking around. I liked Salamanca a lot better than I like Avila when it comes to walking around and things to do. [View Full Entry]

The Four Posts with Avila in the background
Hey guys! I thought that I would add in a few more pictures of Avila. There is a place about a 30 minute walk from where I live called the Four Posts. It is on the outside of the walls of Avila (I also live on the outside of the walls, just on the opposite side of the Four Posts). The walls are from the medieval times when most cities had walls built around them in order to protect the people. Avila expanded so slowly after the Medieval times that the walls stayed up, where as in other towns in Spain, [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! I hope that yall had a great spring break! What did everyone do? Things have been crazy here for me, but this weekend I got to relax quite a bit which was so nice and very much needed! Here's an update of what has been going on. MADRID: Last weekend I went to Madrid for a day/night with 2 other girls from Indiana that I am here with. We took the hour and a half train ride from Avila to Madrid Saturday morning. When we got there we wondered around for a bit. We found a cheap, nice hostel [View Full Entry]

Hey guys! I hope yall are doing well! Thanks for the messages that yall have sent so far! Its's fun to get them and be reminded of home. Things have been crazy since I got here. I flew out of Atlanta at 6:45 pm on Sunday and got to Madrid at 9:05 am (8 hour, 20 minute flight). I am now 6 hours ahead of you here. I then had to take a 2 different subways to get to the train that took me to Avila. I then took a taxi from the train station to my residencia (the place that [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! I thought that it'd be fitting to put Jasonville as the first place that I traveled to since I came every day for 9.5 weeks! I just wanted to say thank you for such a fun, interesting, and great learning experience with student teaching.
