I Brisbane I managed to meet up with some fellow Canadians (after getting a little lost on teh train). My grade 5 teacher, Paul Singleton and his daughter Krista put me up in Krista's husband's cousins house where I had plenty of free food and a nice bed to sleep in. I was so used to sleeping in the 24 degree heat that the first night I was freezing cold from the air condidtioning in the house. We visited Mt. Coot-tha which has a great view of all of Brisbane. So I belive I left off last time on my way to Byron Bay. I had me these two Aussies , Tom and Luke, who were driving around Australia stopping at all of the big things (the big banana, the big pineapple...kind og like the big egg in Vegreville) and they wanted someone new to talk to, so I hopped a ride with them up to Byron Bay. I arrived at Coffs Harbour at 6 in the morning but the hostel I was staying in didn't open until 9:30. I was allowed to wait in the common area/kitchen. As I was sitting at the kitchen table (a picnic table) eating my dry muselix with a fork (there were no spoons, and I had no milk) fighting a bird for my breakfast (there were no screens on the windows) a cockroach walked across the table and I wondered to myself if I should've shelled out the extra money to stay in a place that had an indoor washer and dryer [View Full Entry]

I've just arrived in Brisbane and I'm on a free computer so I'm going to try to catch up on writing entries... Sydney was absolutely amazing. I went on a tour of the beaches on the first day, starting at Coogeee beach and ending at Bondi. I met a nice girl from Denmark and a guy from Wisconsin who thought I had a funny accent (he pronounces hockey "hacky" so who's the one with the accent I say). The weather was a swealtering 29 and the beaches were packed. Coogee means bad smell in the Aboriginal language and got it's name [View Full Entry]

After 31 and a half hours in the sky, 11 in-flight movies, and 7 airline meals I'm finally here, and it's great! I find it pretty warm here, but maybe that's just me being a typical Canadian. Last night a guy walked into one of the rooms wearing jeans and a golf shirt and said it was freezing, I was in shorts and I was sweating sheets of rain it was so hot.
