| 6th May 2008 Ned | Well Done - From: The trip in review Have enjoyed following your blog over the last 5 months. You really packed a lot in in such a short space of time and wrote about it so very well. Being originally from Australia (and now living aboot 300kms of you) I still cant believe you were talked into having a Hunsman crawl on your face. That gave me nightmares :-) Take Care! |
| 24th April 2008 Colin | - From: Bangkok: City of sin Man, you've had some zany encounters... Reminds me when I was kid staying in a hotel on a family vacation in Spokane and all of a sudden there were cop cars everywhere because some guy had hired a prostitute to babysit his kids or something. Whatever it was, it was strange. |
| 23rd March 2008 Colin | Vive! - From: beautiful one day, perfect the next... Now far be it for me to say a Quebec nationalist would be out-argued, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he didn't likely change his mind. I'm curious what your argument was. |

| 13th March 2008 Mindy | Miss you and thinking of you - From: Malaysia: leave your manners at the door Hey Amber :) Looks like you're having some ups and downs eh? I'm glad you're safe despite all these approaches from men. I've heard lots about how men are a lot more forward in the rest of the world compared to N. America and I experienced a little bit of it when I was in Panama last year. Sigh, who would've thought that being beautiful would be a curse sometimes. Anyway, hope your journey only goes upwards from here. Enoy the beauty and the nice weather! It's still snowing a bit up here... Take care and stay safe! Love you lots! |
| 10th March 2008 Johorian. | Unfortunate Event - From: Malaysia: leave your manners at the door OMG....As a Johorian...I'm sorry about your unfortunate event. But deep inside my mind...why the hell you travel alone. I wish I was there with you and wiiling to be your guide. About that dude at the bus stop was real crazy. He wants u to kiss him on the lips...:) U probably give him a slap already. And about the stupid cook who dont know 'Hailam'. Why dont u just tell him in the face..'MEE HAILAM SATU'. ( ONE MEE HAILAM ). or maybe that cook is a foreigner. you know in Malaysia there is a lot of foreign worker from India, Nepal and indonesia. Hope you dont hate Malaysian because of these unfortunate event. Next time take a friend with you. |
| 8th March 2008 anonymous | - From: Malaysia: leave your manners at the door If anything happens to you, I will personally kill every person in Malaysia |
| 7th March 2008 calvin | Catching up - From: Malaysia: leave your manners at the door Hey amber Just found your website today. Sounds like everything has been great so far (aside from Malaysia). It's hard being a girl and travelling by yourself, but it sounds like you are toughing it out. Jen had some of that bullshit happen to her in India. They were very agressive and touchy. I pulled an Indian of Jen one time at the train station, quite forcefully, and he backed the hell off pretty quickly. Try Karate next time. Or kick to the junk. I think you'll like Thailand much more than Malaysia. It's a very easy going place and the Thai men are not agressive at all. I think the main thing is to remember everyone wants your money. Every first price is a ripoff. If you want any recommendations for places to stay in Bangkok (we practically spent a month there), or in Loas/Cambodia, give me an email or facebook message and I'll see if I can give you some useful information (say no to Tuk-tuks). Also, wicked awesome barbeque chicken breasts just of Khoa San road. (30 baht). Take care |
