Helllloooo lovely family. Yea so I guess it was too good to be true, my daily updates did not last lol Going away on spring break for 3 weeks was a LONG time and with only limited access to a computer. Then coming home to Copenhagen was crazy too, it has been non-stop work this past month. I just got home from a week long research study at a field station a few hours out of the city, and we have to write up the report from that study all day tomorrow, so that means tonight I can relax! So from February 22-24th I was in England visiting Kelly, Dad, and our very good family friends Brian and Beryl. Since not everyone know who Brian and Beryl are Ill give you some background. So the story goes that Brian met my grandfather Carmine in a business partnership involving both of their paint companies, Brian's being in England of course. As Brian put it, it was an instant friendship and they only grew closer from there. I have know this wonderful couple my whole life, and I feel really lucky to have in our family. So from February 14th-17 I was in West Denmark with my Marine Biology Class. The first day started bright and early at 7am, I had to meet my class at Frue Plads in the center of Copenhagen to catch our bus. A few of my classmates had baked brownies for valentines day so that was a nice sugar rush in the morning. My Danish friend Kristine also passed around a bottle of Schnapps and we had an early morning toast to celebrate her birthday, and she made us sing the Schnapps song in Danish haha it was pretty funny listening to a bus full of Americans try and sing in Danish. 1/28 So a lot has happened these last few days in Denmark.... Friday I made my first adventure into Copenhagen nightlife. I met a few friends for the DIS welcoming party at a club called Luxx. It was packed full of other American students and they gave us a free drink which was not that great, it is also the 3rd most expensive bar in Copenhagen so buying a second drink was not going to happen! We all kind of awkwardly stood around like a high school dance for a while until people started to warm up. Hello again everyone! Glad to see you all like my blog, I finally have some free time today to update! I started writing one the other night and I fell asleep so it got lost somehow. Oh well.
