Good Morning! It's official, our backs are BROKEN! How did this happen? Joanna and I feel like we have been hit repeatedly with a baseball bat on our lower backs :( Today we are going to go drive through St. Louis and go see the Arch. Too tired to blog....here are some pictures... It was a long day of driving, but full of beautiful country! Something is going on in St. Louis and EVERY hotel is sold out. We were lucky to find one with a room available after hours of searching today. Our backs are KILLING us! Greetings and Salutations from Oklahoma! Bella, Jojo, The Dude, Mischa and myself traveled another 500+ miles today! Joanna decided to give the cats their "special" medicine prior to leaving this morning and it definitely kept them very calm. Or very scared. I'm really not sure. Joanna was freaking out because their inner eyelids were half closed causing them to look lizard like. And Dude managed to hide underneath the backseat which we were not even aware was possible. All in all though, they were quiet and slept most of the time. We left Albuquerque this morning and took a look at the old town before jumping on the I-40. It was very small and quaint. Today we began our journey crossing the U.S. at 5:40am. We were fortunate in that we did not hit any traffic leaving the LA area. We were very thankful! Jojo also decided not to give the cats their medicine until she thought they needed it. Surprisingly the cats did very well in the car. Oh wait! Mischa decided to pee on Jojo's seat. So I pull over on the side of the 40 freeway so she can take care of matters. In the process of trying to clean things up Mischa attempted to escape forcing Jo to carry her. She then clawed Jo and left her with a good mark. After that we locked her in her cage :) Problem solved and we had good kitties ;) I really think The Dude needs to be commended ... read more

My sister Julie suggested I blog my way through the U S of A. So, beginning Thursday I will document the adventures of driving cross-country with my little sister, Jojo, her cats, and my daughter Bella. The trip should be very eventful, but not because of all the beautiful sites that we will behold. Jojo's two cats, The Dude and Mischa, hate cars! I hate cats! Ok, not really, but I am allergic to them, so I sort of don't like them. Bella will be in the backseat with the cats so I foresee a lot of complaining on that end.
