SORRY FOR THE DELAY PEOPLE So week 6 kicked off with a late arrival in Thakhek, thanks to a broken down bus in which we think someone stole our fucking camera. Little bastard. 1am in the morning and we share a tuk tuk in to the town with an English couple called Rich and Lucy. They are also planning on doing ´The Loop´, a 350km round trip through mountains around most of central Laos. We met the next day for a chat about how we were going to tackle this little challenge and met a Canadian lad named Ben, who was also about to take on the trip. We all thought that a little entrouge like this would hold us in better stead for a safe and enjoyable time. So now with myself,Ryan, Andrei, Snaedis, Rich, ... read more

So its week 4 now, the one month anniversary. We left Phnom Penn heading for Laos, a brand new country and another fresh stamp in the passport. We stopped over for a night in Kratie, to avoid a hefty 12 hour journey and instead split it in to two 6 hour journeys. Kratie is a small town situated on the Mekong, about 200km north of Phnom Penn (total guesstimation there!). As soon as we departed the bus a posse of tuk tuk drivers greeted us like old pals ´´Hello my friend! I take you to my guest house – cheap cheap for you sir!‘ Ryan gives me a look of despair and says ´Ah im really not in the fucking mood for this‘. A quick cigarette break gives us the willpower to push on and try ... read more

WEEK 3 - Jeez it's flying by! We left Koh Chang on a bad note after the woman at our guest house had said we were 'the worst brits I have meet - meet no one else like you'. Well biatch if we pay top dollar for hot showers we expect hot showers! Anyway, poor hostess' aside, we hopped on the bus to Poipet, a border crossing from Thailand to Cambodia. Don't worry, it wasn't the crossing that has seen about 20 fatalities last week and some serious gunfire, we made sure we steered clear of that. After the 9 hour odd journey through some once again beautiful countryside we arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia's second largest city. We were lead to a number of poor guesthouses by our Tuk-Tuk driver 'Lucky'' so we decided to ... read more

Week two was eventful to say the least. I think I left it in Trat last time, about to eat some noodles.... well anyway we had met a fellow traveller there called Ben. He was in Thailand for 6 weeks and recommended that before we go to Koh Mak, we hit up Koh Kood. He said it was a quiet island, not too busy and absolutely stunning. We took him up on it and boy are we grateful. After setting off the next day on a 2 and a half hour slow boat journey (no dolphins like Ben had seen :( ) we docked at Koh Kood pier. On the way in we had seen two eagles circling the mountain top (tell me about it) and the crystal clear water indicated that we were in for ... read more

AND WE ARE OFF! Ryan and myself left on the 1st and headed for Heathrow Terminal 4 for the start of our South East Asia tour. As we were waved off by his parents, obviously we were brimming with excitement. We weren't on the same flight, I was booked onto a Kingfisher plane whilst he went all upper class on me and flew with Etihad - and by god did I feel the difference. After an excruciating 9 hour flight to Mumbai (sleepless and foodless, the Lamb Goolash on offer was way below par) I had a two hour stop over there. Ryan stopped over in Abu Dhabi for 4 hours and slept well, was fed well and enjoyed his flight. Mumbai was quite an experience, obviously I didnt get out of the airport but luckily ... read more
