Arizona and Utah

On my last day in Playa I had one last trip to the beach just in case there'd be no sunshine in Arizona... and then caught a bus to the airport in Cancun. The flight left on time and I had a great view of the Cancun hotel zone from the window. I was sitting next to an English couple so I think they must have sat us all together so they could keep an eye on us.It was good to get back to Phoenix

Mexico Yucatan

My journey from Belize to Mexico turned out to be pretty awful. The bus decided to show up at 11.30am an hour late and despite having paid a first class price it turned out to be a cramped little minibus with no airconditioning so not very pleasant with the sun beating down on us. Still it only took four and a half hours to get to Chetumal in Mexico and I chatted with a guy from Birmingham

Guatemala and Belize

Well I managed to survive my week of Spanish lessons though I'm sure my Spanish is just as bad as it always was At times I thought my teacher was going to despair. Ah well no doubt I've learnt something useful from them.I spent my first two nights with the school at Chiqui's house where I was joined by a young French couple. This made the mealtimes slightly less embarassing but they didn't sp

It feels like weeks since I last updated this this is possibly because it has been weeks. Im afraid Ive been having far too much of a good time. Thought it was about time I rambled on some more about my adventures though and Ive finally got around to uploading some photos to go with my other entries so take a look if you feel so inclined.I only ended up spending a couple of days in Granada

Honduras Roatan and Tegucigalpa and Nicaragua

Roatan was absolutely fantastic easily the highlight of my trip so far. I would have stayed for longer than I did if it werent so expensive and it also felt like cheating a bit because it really wasnt like the rest of Latin America There are so many expats and tourists there that it had a completely different culture and most people there spoke English so it was very easy The island was r

Though I nearly managed to miss my plane because I was waiting at the wrong gate I made it to Guatemala City on Wednesday. I wasnt too impressed it seemed like a bit of a dump I also reckon that Guatemala City has the loudest buses in the world and unfortunately they seemed to like driving past my window all night. On Thursday morning Id barely set foot out of my hostel when I was shepherde

Mexico City and Teotihuacan

Mexico City is wonderful I was expecting it to be crowded dirty and dangerous but Ive been pleasantly surprised. Well maybe its crowded dirty etc. in other parts of the city but not where Ive been Ive been here for six days now and have managed to change my flight to Guatemala so Im flying there tomorrow. Despite all my whining about how expensive things are in Mexico I think I

I only left the US five days ago but already it seems like that was ages ago It was sad to leave Phoenix Ill miss Luba Terry and Sean but at least I know Ill probably be going back there before I go home.
Phoenix

I've just seen a bit of cloud in the sky so I've had to come inside in case it gets a bit chilly the weather forecast says it's going to average only 35 degrees Celsius here today and since being here I've become accustomed to the 40s... it's such a hard lifeIt's been nice being back in Phoenix and seeing my relatives Luba Terry and Sean. Nothing here has changed much so it all feels very f
