Alice and Tara

Alibongo and Tarzan

Hellu! We are Tara and Alice and are about to commence on the journey of a lifetime! We're both on a gap year and off to uni in September, so what better time to see the big wide world?! We're off to Bangalore, India initially for a bit of voluntary work and then have no set route but hope to get around India and Thailand, and back home in time for more driving lessons to squeeze in before uni and for Glastonbury/any festival woowoo! Anyway, we've set up this so all of you losers back in dreary England can see what we've been up to through to miracle of cybernetiness. Photos are the light of my life now I have my new snazzy digital camera so look at the pretty pictures too! Peace Out!

Hello there! Alibob here! we're on an island in the south now, famous for diving and such, but i canny go in the sea due to silly motorbike burn! we've just trekked half-way accross the island to get to civilisation as we're stopping on a really remote little bay with our own patch of sand and water, nobody around, no phone lines, no 7/11 argh! so we're just reading and writing and thinking. anyways, we won't be on the internet for ages so don't worry about us, nothing can go wrong unless that mini-dinosaur we saw last night decides to attack... so see you losers in a week! xxxx... read more

Sa-wat-dii-kha everybody! well here we are in Thailand! we have been here for a week now and Thailand is so different to India. It is very weird trying to speak Thai now instead of all the indian languages! the intonation used in Thai is strange and it all sounds very high pitched! It is quite confusing too and today i said hello instead of thankyou! The syllable 'mai' can mean five different words depending on the intonation! Intonation is really important in thai but it seems so hard to end the way we speak with a high pitched voice! Anyway i will fill you in with all the Thailand stories but first i do believe we need to recap on the rest of our wonderful Indian travels! So Alice left off with the delightful tales of ... read more

So i think tararara left you when we were about to take the trip to Kerala. ooo that was a train journey to remember. We were both knackered and I was in a bit of a mood and had a cold coming along, so wasn't in the best state to be lying on ... read more

Well hello there my english countrymen! I do believe it has been quite sometime since we last wrote in the travelblog but we have been very busy partying at the big chill, sunbathing, swimming, watching movies and getting drunk! I think the last place where we left off was in crazy Calungute! So, after Calungute we headed for Palolem where we stayed here for ten days! What lazy bums we are! Here, we didn't really do much but lounged around on the beach and at night we always seemed to head for the same place a 'hip' and 'trendy' 24 hour bar called 'Cafe Del Mar'. Little did we know that this enjoyable little place would cause us so many problems! We met lots of people in Palolem including Tom, Sam and Jack who we are ... read more

So these past few days have been alot of fun! Our last day in arambol with steve was quite adventurous! We decided to head over to a nearby beach which meant going over what we thought was a small hill over a footpath! We got there safely and had what was probably the quickect swim known to man, It was very hard to swim in arambol! You did ... read more

why helluuuu there! alice here, long time no speaketh! so i think tarzan left off with little tales of our first moments in Ooty. we had much more fun when our buddies Lenka Lisa and Hester joined us from Bangalore. i can't recall so much what happened on what day so i'll just blab a bit and hopefuly you'll get an idea! Lisa Steve Tara and I went out to a bar on the night of their arrival and met some cool dudes who boogied at a club nearby so we checked that out. that was all quite fun and it looked as though we had just stepped onto the set of save the last dance with us white chicks boogying with the hip hop dudes. anyway, we also went there the next night and ... read more

Namesde! No more namaskara im afraid we are now in the state of Tamil Nadu and so the language of Kannada is no more needed! The last couple of days have been very different to our days in Bangalore! We left Bangalore on the Staurday and headed to Mysore with Lenka, Hester and Christine. We spent longer than expected here visiting the Maharaja's palace which was designed by Henry Irwin and also went up Chamundi hill to visit a couple of temples. Alice and i wern't overly enthused about coming to Mysore but wanted to spend some time with Lenka and if we were travelling with steve it meant going to mysore. It was an enjoyable couple of days though. We slept alot catching up on some well deserved sleep after our hectic last week in ... read more

hey everybody tis alibongo here again!sorry we haven't been keeping you up to date but we seriously have no time and it takes a few hours to do one entry!!sooooo, well i don't know where to start so i'll just type and hope that it makes sense! Living in Banglore has been pretty fine and breezy, the roads are still crazy and the smog ad heat a tad sickly but it's still fun! we've gathered a bit of a party reputation now due to the fact that we like to go out a lot, but there's so much to see and so little time! there's a really cool club called NYX that is on a rooftop and has tables outside and two dancefloors inside. it's pretty jazzy with nice food and music but is god darned ... read more
