| 13th January 2007 Ali | Thanks for the comments :) - From: Last hours in San Francisco I wrote this in June 2002 - I left out the charges because they are so prone to change... and at the time I didn't realise how big travelblog would become... I tend to put guidelines in more often now. Thanks again. |
| 12th January 2007 Dr.P.Lahiri | Rates - From: Last hours in San Francisco Why didn't you mention the rates/charges of the hostel . It will help the other future visitors. In which year did you visit? I will go on reading your articles. Nice reading them. |
| 12th January 2007 Dr.Pinaki Lahiri | Reading your blog from Calcutta, India - From: Last working day. If its you who has started this blog, then its a great thing that others have only dreamt of and you have done it. You must keep it up for the sake of others just because all good things later turn up to become public property stading high so that others could see and feel. |

| 3rd January 2007 ste makin | Robinson Crusoe Island - From: Robinson Crusoe Island I stayed on Robinson Crusoe island a few years ago when a friend and i spent a week or so in Fiji during a trip round asia and australia. It was so laid back it defied belief, perfect weather, beautiful sea and scenery, fantastic hosts and plenty of travellers who were just as impressed as we were. Days spent lazing around doing nothing and evenings watching the show performed by ziggy and co (the lads and lasses who work on the island) then having a few drinks and singing songs round the bonfire. It was a bit of a reality check when we finally left after 3 or 4 days and got back to main land Fiji, never mind when we finally arrived back in England! I would definately recommend a visit to this beautiful island if you are visiting Fiji any time soon! Ste |

| 9th December 2006 Stephen Paul | great shots - From: Diving the Galapagos awesome pictures Ali, I especially like the previous post of yours. Galapagos is one of the rare places where it seems the land pictures are better than the underwater ones! However, this post gives that notion a run for its money! Nice work. |

| 15th November 2006 James B | Ignore him Ali - From: Varna, 7000 years of history. I think your going about this just fine... No-one can doubt the experiences you have seen and done have been amazing. It is a bit disappointing that you missed an old museum, but hey there are thousands across the globe - maybe next time ;) As for the beer festival, if this chap/chapess knows the UK as they claim then they would know we love a tipple or two. I'm sure you would have been there if you could have. Keep traveling and keep doing it Ali stylie! It the way to go. Good luck James B |
| 11th November 2006 Sunny and Dan | - From: ˇViva Cuenca! We don't care. We're ok, really. In this cold miserable northern winter. We hate spanish people anyway. He he! No just kidding, we're extremely jealous. honest. |
| 9th November 2006 Rachel-Conquers-Europe | Inspiration - From: I am a divemaster! (least for a little while) Hey Ali- I am a Divemaster too-thinking about working as one in the Med. Your story and photographs are truly encouraging. Thank you! |
| 6th November 2006 Della | Ecuador!! - From: ˇViva Cuenca! So you're in South America now?!?! When most people send me e-mails saying, "I'm thinking of going to South America" I discount them, thinking that they are saying that, but won't REALLY do it....or at least won't do it for another year or so. You, on the other hand, just pick up and go to South America. Crazy. I loved Ecuador - although I only really saw the Galapagos and went into the jungle (and then hopped over to Macchu Picchu). Enjoy! Have some cui (??) - Deep Fried Guinea Pig. Yum. |
| 6th November 2006 judy | - From: ˇViva Cuenca! hey, look like u are having a lot of fun in quito. how's your spanish so far? i am going to london in three weeks time and i wil meet up with donna. :) enjoy yourself in south america. |

| 11th October 2006 Cumberland Sausage | Congratulations and commiserations - From: I am a divemaster! (least for a little while) Some lovely photos on this blog - and something of a sad irony that one great thing should prevent another. I'm sure you'll work out a way to do both. |
| 10th October 2006 Addie | Beautiful photos! - From: I am a divemaster! | 10th October 2006 Tim | Temple in Luang Prabang - From: Meandering down the Mekong for Christmas in Luang Prabang. Hi Ali, The name of the temple in Luang Prabang, which you labelled "TBA" is called "La Chapelle Rouge" in French, and translated the Red Chapel in English. It is part of the Wat Xieng Thong complex. I have details of it here: http://www.asiaexplorers.com/laos/luangprabang/watxiengthong.htm Best regards, Tim tim@asiaexplorers.com |
| 7th October 2006 Kent Agne | Awesome - From: Crazy Arsed Adventures in Bear Country Thanks for the pics. My family hiked Yosemite in August, 2006, definitely as good as it gets. May not be far enuf removed from population for some people's taste, but the people you cross pahts with are generally more enjoyable and in a better mood than most places. How can you not be. Besides it is easy to find space to be out of the site of people and take in the views. So what if it's only 5 min away from others versus 24 hrs. For a person who spends most of my time inside 4 walls, I won't dare complain. |
| 5th October 2006 Pam | Great journal - From: Laid-Back Laos I really enjoyed your eloquence and pics. My son has been in Asia for five months now, traveling around many of the places you mentioned. Your blog has given me much more info than his sketchy emails, and it is so beautifully written, a real coup in these times of email, text messaging, and im-ing. As a retired English teacher of 35 years, I am thrilled to see that a practioner of language still exists in the young of today. Great job. |
| 21st September 2006 swillett | Just look at the World around you... right here on the ocean floor... - From: Memoirs of a Divemaster Trainee ... such wonderful things around you. What more is you looking for? Oh The Little Mermaid. It says it all. I saw a pic from your blog on the main page and then when I saw your name, I had to check it out. I actually JUST got my open water certification last weekend in Utila. Like you, I also figured "why not if it's the cheapest place!?" I am SOOO glad I did it. I am still in awe of it all days later. The DMT training sounds pretty intense... not sure that I could do it. My DMT told me I was a natural though and that she can see me doing it. It's definately a new interest of mine, that's for sure. Your stress test sounds hard though. Just not quite ready for that yet I suppose, although only having 4 dives under my belt may have something to do with that. Anyways, just wanted to say CONGRATS on becoming a Dive Master. I know it's a lot of work and not everyone can appreciate the amazingness that is diving. For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who don't, no explanation will ever be enough. |
| 15th September 2006 Joanie | Travelling nostalgia.. - From: Memoirs of a Divemaster Trainee Hi Ali! Raining morning here in Montreal, Im "travellingsick" if I can say that instead of "homesick".. I open my laptop, when on travelblog.. The images of the children's smile and the peacefulness this day, in Sihanoukville, when we were singing and you were playing guitar.. So I went on your blog to see if you added some news, and I read your writtings! Im happy to have some pics in my head of what you have done in the last few months. Nostalgia fill my whole body and my soul today.. I miss travelling.. so much.. the most beautiful gift I did to myself in my life. And now, I can enjoying to live my travel again when I go read my blog, something that I do every 2 weeks maybe.. and I feel so good.. I feel like I live those moments again and again.
