El Bolson was this fun little hippy town and the hostel we stayed in was more like somebodys home with a guest house they let us stay in. It was very nice and comfy. We met a few new friends here a Canadian named Leigh and two Israels, Gil and Oran. Together one day we all went hiking to see a waterfall that the owner of our hostel recommended to see. He gave us however a hand drawn picture map like legit turn right at a yellow house kind of map to show us how to get to this epic secret waterfall, which later turned out later to not be a secret at all. Anyways, it was still a nice waterfall and at the bottom there was a very cold area where you could jump in ... read more

We finally arrived in Bariloche, Argentina after about a days worth of travel from Pichilemu, Chile and it is absolutely gorgeoussssss!!!!! Its a city on the hills looking down on Lago Nahuel Huapi which is surrounded by snow capped Andean peaks. The lake is an a amazing blue color that makes you just want to run and jump in it (too bad its too cold). The town was nice, most the buildings looked like log cabins. We stayed at the Hostel Inn (a chain hostel) with the most amazing view of the lake and city. We had a few days here so we went out to lunch often (our breakfast and dinner were included in our hostel rate). I tried a local cuisine, trout, which is supposed to be amazing but I disagree. The second day ... read more

We left La Serena bright and early Sunday morning for a 7 hour bus ride to Valparaiso. However, like our recent weekly pattern of travel struggles we came across another unexpected stop. The buses in Chile stop half way through your ride to check everybody´s luggage for fruits, vegetables, drugs, weapons, etc which is annoying but usually does not take too long. Unless you are on the bus that is carrying SIX suitcases filled with drugs. We have no idea what the story is but when our bus was stopped they had the drug dogs come sniff everything out. Everybody passed without a problem but when they opened up underneath the bus the dogs went crazy on a few of the bags. After 3 some hours of the Chilean Police checking everybody´s bus tickets (their process ... read more

We have finally made it into Chile! However, since my last post we´ve had a few extra obstacles to overcome than expected. We left Cusco last Sunday night for an overnight bus ride to Arequipa. We arrived at our hostel, Wild Rover, an Irish run hostel, around 11am which gave us the day to explore. The city was very busy and nothing too special, however back at the hostel everybody we talked to seemed to have loved Arequipa. We had to leave early the next morning for our next stop, so we will never know what was so amazing about the city of Arequipa. We woke up early the next morning for our bus to take us to Tacna, which is the lowest city of Peru and its before you cross the border into Chile. As ... read more

Soo YAY!!! I have finally started my blog and even though it has only been a week, it feel as if it has already been a month because of all the amazing things we have seen and done. So our adventure began from the second we stepped off the plane in Bogota, Columbia. Our flight from Dulles to Bogota was an hour late and we only had an hour lay over so we missed our connecting flight to Lima. Luckily we met two very nice couples, and other travelers on the plane who missed their connecting flight as well. They spoke a little more Spanish than we did, which made things alot easier on us when it came to figuring out what we were supposed to do next. Long story short the airline put us up ... read more
