Here follows what i did for travel week: Since the first few days in Florence, me and Ida had decided to meet up somewhere in Italy for my travel week, as a small vacation you could call it. The easiest place to fly to was Milan, so that is where we decided to go. But only thing was that Ida would not be able to get here until the 1st of November, so that would leave me with 4days to travel somewhere on my own. Knowing how much it make my best friend, Robin Karlsson, jealous, i decided to go to Parma for a few days. And it was also very conveniently located between Perugia and Milan. My hotel was located right by the trainstation, so there was no hassle in finding that at least. But ... read more

Oh wow, it sure has been a while since i have posted something on here. I can only blame myself for this, and i will try and make these last two and a half weeks as interesting as possible for all you readers out there (Which is like 5 nor counting my family) But anywhoooo, here is what has happened since last time! Last time i ended was with me lying in a hotel room in Florence. Florence really was a great city, everything was close by, and just like Rome, it felt like you were walking in History. But also, unlike Rome, Florence was cleaner, less crowded, and less touristy, which was very nice! What i did not write about last time was when we saw Michelangelo's David in the Academica Museo. Just a stone ... read more

After a short train ride from Rome, which i think that everyone expected to be longer, we found ourselves in a warm cooking pot called Florence/Firenze. Just by judging from the walk from the station to our hotel, i could just feel that i was going to enjoy my stay here much better than in Rome. To find our hotel we basically just had to follow the road that was turning ahead of us, but looking up over the rooftops of the nearby houses we saw the gold orb that sits upon the top of Florence Cathedral. This was where we needed to go. And following the road and making the turn, there it was; the Cathedral was just as beautiful as i have imagined it, if not even more so. And bigger too! Well situated ... read more

First of, i am out of shape, i need to walk, but it really is tireing... And i need the walking now more than ever, since i found a "big" conviniant store just around the corner from where we live. And get this, the sell; Pepsi Twist! It has been so many years since i drank it... so i might have to buy their stock and send it home with mom and dad.... true story! But that is not what this blog is about, it's about art, history, walking.... and some great companions! After our regular breakfast at the hotel, me, Jase and the others who stay at the Navona hotel walked over to the "girls" hotel. From there we were to take the longest walks of this trip so far. First we got a small ... read more

A super hot day, and a super interesting time! The day started great with a good breakfast, gosh they have the best Juice here, and with a nice long stroll to the Roman Forum. We had overlooked the forum yesterday, "just" seeing the Arch of Septimius Severus and some of the closer lying ruins, like the temple of Saturn. But today it was all in for us! The day was hot, sweaty and very sticky, but the sight of all those ruins made the day better! The Arch of Titus was our first stop and that was almost surreal to watch, like everything is here really. The group stopped and started sketching. Having no thought that morning to pack my sketchbook, i went on a little expedition myself. Walking up and down a many number of ... read more

Day 1 Wow, there are few things that i have seen that can measure up to what i have seen here in Rome during our first 2 days here. Where to begin, well let's start at the Copenhagen airport where i had to say goodbye to Ida for 2 months. It was sad, but 2 months is nothing! So everything went as it should in Copenhagen, no delays or nothing. Trip to Brussels was a little boring though, no food nor beverages was served so the tummy got a little rumbly. But nothing that a little sleep would cure. Too bad for the other people in the plane is that i snore like a boar in an Airplane. I might sleep loudly in a bed, but it's nothing compared to how i sound in an airplane. ... read more

This morning the trip officially begun. Me and Ida left Halmstad around 11am with the sun peaking through the heavy clouds above. Before we left Hallands county, we saw two of Kronleins Brewerys (where i work) semi-trucks, i believed that this was their way of saluting me off, Ida disagreed.... Once arriving in Copenhagen we had to rely on my previous visits to the Hotel we are staying at, because someone left the GPS at home, no names needs to be said... But it all ended happily because, well, here we are! :) We had some time to kill so we decided to drive in to Copenhagen city, which was quite the travel, not because of the distance, which was short, but of the amount of traffic and the unclear directions. But we made it, and ... read more

Less than two days away from two months down in beautiful Italy! Tomorrow i travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, to stay there for a day and then to travel to Rome on Saturday. Today me and Ida entertained my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my sister and her daughter, to a going away party for me. Nothing special, just some bacon wrapped chicken with some Panacotta for dessert. Yummy! Well, enough blogging for today, a more detailed post about my feelings about the trip will come up tomorow from Copenhagen! Sleep Tight, Forza Italia!... read more
