So what a weekend! So today on my day off i spent my time running errands about town. I discovered after a 100 baht taxi trip that i cant buy train tickets till 60days before the concerned date so i figured that i may as well take advantage of being in town so i caught the subway then the skytrain to siam and had a yummy club sandwich :D i also bought a few thing in paragon that i needed too. What a weekend! Im going to try to fill you in on as much as possible but I am most likely to miss a whole bunch of stuff. So on Friday afternoon and whole bunch of us went on a bus trip to Kanchanburi (about 2hours away). Now I was here a year ago but they wanted to check out erawan waterfalls and they were pretty good last time so I figured why not? Despite feeling a little off the past day or so, im slowly feeling better. Yesterday pam and i decided to catch the express ferry down the chao pra ya river to see where it would take us. Ur supposed to pay but we may have gotten away with not paying... my first crime in thailand :P!! A new day has arrived! Bush is gone. But yesterday i finally got my much need sleep in. I then had class at 2-6.30. Suffering from starvation i got invited out for tea and we ended up going to little india which was YUMMY! and cheap too! We then proceeded to the penthouse to watch the inauguration. Since thailand is 12hours ahead of DC we watched it at midnight. It was an amazing turn out. About 30 ppl filled the room and it was packed. And there wasnt just americans too! SO today we had the great task of attempting to great task of the Chatuchuk market. It is must see of bangkok city and is one of the biggest markets in south-east asia. So today a lot of walking, many temptations to which i didnt cave into but i figure that im here for 5 months so im definetly bound to be coming back here. So yesterday was my day off, so i went for a leisurely walk around the area which was enjoyable until i stated feeling unwell and was bed ridden for the rest of the day. But by dinner time what ever i had, had passed and i was as good as new :) Nothing really much has happened except the usual visit to the penthouse and our outing to RCA to a nightclub called Route 66 which was really cool and free unlike Bed nightclub. That was the class i had today.. it was boring, i knew it all. What is ur name? What is ur surname, bla bla bla. Thats what my dinner consisted of. Malik (german guy) ventured down to the main street and met up with josh and ben and found this great stall with alls sorts of delicacies. And i get that all just for $1.50!!! Bargain!!! So i got to sleep in today but like a true local, i caught the bus to uni. Although i thought i may have caught the wrong one, it looped around and got me to uni in about 15minutes all for just 6.5 baht! So where do i start?? On friday at 11am a group of us (13 to be exact) took a trip to Koh Samet island. We caught a minibus from century near victory monument then caught a speedboat to the island which took about 3 hours all together. I had to kinda lead a little as the exhcnagers didnt really know what they were doing. But all in all it was a great weekend. We rented out 2 rooms with 7doubles beds combined and enjoyed the great food, company, cocktails and beaches around us. It was a great weekend and i scored [View Full Entry]
