Refugees in Malawi - me too! - From: Just life as usual in Lilongwe
Hello, My name is Annie, I am French Canadian. I am moving to Lilongwe in 4 weeks to start a new job at UNHCR. I also studied Refugee Law (at the American University in Cairo, Egypt). I actually found your blog when I googled 'Chez NTemba + Lilongwe', as I am currently based in Congo, and also a huge fan of the music and the dancing. Chez Ntemba started in Kinshasa and then spread to other African countries, and even to Paris, I was told. I love Congo but I am based in the East and it is dangerous so I am happy to 'upgrade'; I figured that when I miss the country too much, I should go to NTemba to meet some Congolese people! Are you still in Lilongwe? Do you have any tips for me on settling down? Bye, Annie

I thought the first picture noted your actual position as goalie, normally those do not have to sprint too much. Second, the sprinting picuture, I thought that was the marching team. Thanks for the titles, I would have read too much into it. Looks like the activity is keeping you trim and fit. You are making a difference! - From: Refugee Law 101
My taxi-driver last night was from Burundi, and he was resettled to Australia through the UNHCR over 30 years ago. For him, it was an opportunity to start a life free from the uncertainty and devastation of armed conflict. He is so thankful for what the UNHCR did for him and his family, and in 30 years time, relocated refugees will still remember you with a large degree of fondness. Keep up your superb work!

I hope to one day get back for a lengthy visit one day. In the meantime, I hope you keep this blog going, with tons of photos so I can live vicariously through you. I love your writting style and upbeat attitude, too. You mentioned Ann Arbor in your writing. I live in Lathrup Village, MI ( right by Southfield ). Talk about a small world, thanks to Google!
