St.Gotthard Pass, over the Alps... & it's ALL uphill :D The air is noticeably thinner & one quickly learns the advantage of having a jacket "handy" & not packed so far away it'll take an hour to find it. Although shorts & t-shirts in the snowy mountains look great in photos, heh-DUH. I prefer the pass but this doesn't imply I suffer from Claustrophobia. The Gotthard Tunnel is about 17 km long & isn't my idea of scenic or relaxing travel. Been there done that, not much to say---it's a tunnel. They serve an excellent braised donkey in these parts. It is widely known, the general consensus of Europeans is "The Swiss are rude". Can't prove this by me as I have yet to meet a rude Switzer. Perhaps the European's mistake the pride.... & proud they should be! A glorious country! Clean clean clean. Pride in their shops, pride in their homes, pride for their public parks & waterways, etc! Words alone cannot express how MUCH I love this little village! Population, just a few thousand-under 3 I think. Slightly over 1000 homes & SO many of them GORGEOUS! I'm not much of a shopper, but here I SHOP ;D! Bellagio is one of the most distinguished & famous holiday destinations in all of Europe. It deserves to be so. Quiet, peaceful, serene & yes, it should probably be said, a celebrity haunt, if you're interested in that sort of thing. Personally, I'm not.
