I arrived back in California Friday March 29th. I had a doctors apopointment immediately upon arrival. My doctor assured me the doctor in Nepal was good. She said I had two intestinal parasites and he had only treated me for one. She gave me some antibiotics and said if I'm not feeling better in a week to come back. I'm still strggling with stomach pain and I'm exhausted. I cancelled my airline tickets to Italy and Goa, India. I'm not sure where I'm headed next. My plan is to get better and return to my journey. I booked a flight to Los Angeles leaving March 27th. I could not leave Nepal without one day to explore. I cowboyed up as they say and hired a driver for the day. I had made a list of all the sites I wanted to see and even had time to shop. I saw the palace and the temples. He drove me to Bhaktapur. Its a beautiful little town. I arrived in Kathmandu. I was so glad to be out of India. It was a long 30 minutes to my hotel but well worth it. I loved the Kathamndu Guesthouse! It was equipped with everything, beautiful garden courtyard, restuarant, travel agent, atm, jewlry shop and more..... I was in my room 2 hours when I knew I had to see a doctor. I called the front desk and they arranged a doctor to visit me in my hotelroom. I was uncomfortable with this but really knew I could not argue. We arrived in Kolkata in the early afternoon. I had survived a long night of being violently ill and feeling like Linda Blair in the Exorcist! I have spent three days in Varanasi and still I could stay more.... Varansi is the Holy City. Pilgrims come here to die. They believe if they die while in Varnasi they will not be reincarnated. They have public cremations several times throughout the day. People belive the water in the ganges is sacred and healing. All your sins are washed away with this water. They drink it, bathe in it, and also wash clothes in it. Everything you can imagine is in this water including of course ashes. Our first night here, we took a night cruise along the ganges. We arrived in agra late in the afternoon. I now understand why we had a day to relax in Bharatpur. Agra is full of hustlers constantly in your face. Its exhausting! They just keep coming and coming, it never stops. please buy please buy, you come here, transport? Chai? ect ect ect................ I ended up getting sick that night. Pushkar is a gypsy desert community. I love it here! The shopping is amazing! I went crazy buying silver jewlry and gypsy skirts. The sunset on the riverside ghats was beautiful. The sadhus were everywhere chanting. There are quite a few pilgrims here on there way to Varanasi. [View Full Entry]

Yep this is where they filmed Octopussy. I had never seen a James Bond film but was forced to watch Octopussy while eating dinner. The atmosphere was great considering I had visited all the places in the film but the movie itself was awful! => My friend Jon and I spent the day at the City Palace.
