You can't help but feel like you are in the heart of the South, in Savannah. The kindhearted people, their sweet accents, the beautiful historic district, and their famous candy....prailines makes you feel right at home. Its amazing here. Fosyth Park is absolutely beautiful. the huge trees and gorgeous gardens. The River Front is buzzing with entertainers, sea food resturants, and prailine shops. The City Market is a great place to grab a pizza and chill. You can spend hours people watching. The Bonaventure Cemetery looks exactly as it does in the movie" Midnight in the garden of evil". Earlier during my trip, I had driven through Alabama and South Carolina, in a huge hurry to get to Washing D.C.. I had decided to go back and spend sometime in Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. While driving to Charleston, I was listening to a local radio station when they played "Rock you like a Hurricane", by Judas Priest. I thought nothing of this, until I started switching stations and four of the stations were playing this same song at the same time. Then the announcer says "yes this is literally going to happen". Then came the beeping announcement....yes, there [View Full Entry]

I was late in arriving to Virginia Beach. I found myself constantly pulling to the side of the road to take photos while driving from West Virginia to Virginia. The scenery was amazing. It was a cloudy day. This did not keep the mountains from showing their beautiful taupe and mauve colors. Everyday brought a new adventure, new people, and new amazing scenery. I was having such a great time on my road trip! My friend Alex, called me early in the morning. He encouraged me to drive along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I was so glad I did. This [View Full Entry]

New Hampshire and Vermont are both beautiful. I love New England. I imagine during the fall these states are absolutely gorgeous with changing colors of the leaves. I will have to go sometime. While in Maine, it was raining but this did not stop me from visiting the sea. The lighthouse in Portland is the most photographed one in all of the states. It is still in use today. The park thats surrounds it is amazing. The roaring of the sea against the rocks makes this a mystical wonder. You can hear the wind and sea speak. I've learned on [View Full Entry]

I had quite an adventure driving to Boston. I experienced rush hour traffic on the New Jersey/ New York bridge in Manhattan. I counted five accidents in this short stretch. It was crazy. I had decided beforehand not to stop in New York City, since I had been there before. I was happy with my decision. It was a beautiful when I arrived in Boston. I checked into my hotel and decided to roam around the city. Quincy Market was buzzing with people everywhere. The Harbor was quiet and peaceful. I stumbled on a brochure for a free city tour [View Full Entry]

I had decided drive to Washington D. C. two days before the Cherry Blossom Festival. I arrived during rush hour traffic. It took me literally two hours to find a parking garage that would allow me to park over night. I was completely consumed with frustration. I quickly started to smile as I entered the hostel. I was embraced with smiles and a a very friendly atmosphere. I stayed at the HI Hostel in Washington D. C.. The staff was awesome. They quickly gave me a map of the city, and explained the public transportation system. They also told me [View Full Entry]

I had stopped by the tourist office to get information on Epcot tickets. I met Larbi. Larbi is from Casablanca, Morocco. He has been living in Florida for the last five years. We instantly became friends. We talked for five hours about Morocco and Islam. I have so many questions regarding Islam. He was very kind and helpful while answering my questions. He later bought me the Quran and another book regarding Islam. [View Full Entry]

Let me start by saying I Love New Orleans! It is a crazy wild city full of life! I arrived and immediately checked into the India Hostel. This was my fist hostel experience in the US. I had a great time. As always I met people from all over the globe. I got some tips on Brazil and other South American countries. I strongly recommend this hostel. Its owned by a couple of Aussies. They are very helpful. The hostel has lots of lounge rooms, a big screen tv, and a pool. I rode the cable car into town. I met [View Full Entry]

I went to the beach early in the morning to take photos of the marina. I saw a man feeding the birds. He was wearing jeans with holes and looked as if he had a rough night. He had a five o'clock shadow and looked as if he hadn't showered in days. I assumed he was homeless. I went back to the car to grab some fruit. I said hello. I asked if he wanted to share breakfast, offered him fruit and sat next to him. He said thank you and accepted it without hesitation. He then said you must [View Full Entry]

Wilcox, Arizona - San Antonio, Texas I left Wilcox early in the morning. I was hoping to drive 700 miles (1126 kilometers) to San Antonio, by mid-evening. As I crossed the state line to New Mexico I couldn't help but notice how beautiful is it. My friend made the comment that we take the States for granted. He is right. I'm guilty of this too. I have been traveling the world. Taking in all its beauty ,but had forgotten how beautiful my home country is. Each state is amazing and different in its own right. I have been on the road [View Full Entry]
