I can't believe I'm really here. It all feels so surreal!! I have wanted to come here all my life, and I'm NOT exaggerating. I got in last night at about 7pm. My friend Haran picked me up at Gard du Nord. these damn French keyboards are so annoying because they have so many extra characters!!! Anyways, my hostel is really nice, more on the hotel range. After dropping off my luggage, Haran took me put for a 3 course French meal and I ate food that I don't know the names for and I can't really pronounce even if I [View Full Entry]

I have mixed emotions about leaving. I love this little town that has somehow become home in the past 2 and a half months, and I know once I leave I will never come back. The memories will be cherished forever. At the same time, regardless of how beautiful Swanage is, you just have to get out because of how isolated and small it is. I guess there is always a good and bad to everything. And it's not just the town, its the people that I have met here as well that made my experience so beautiful. I also started [View Full Entry]

I was going to just hang at home again on Sunday but my housemates headed to Studland (which is the next town over) and invited me. They had already left so I took the bus on my own and being my first time on the crappy public transportation system of Dorset, I got lost. I got off the bus just before it took the ferry over to Poole and ended up finding a trail that took me to the beach in 15 mins. Little did I know the beach I was embarking on was the Naturist aka NUDIST beach. Studland is [View Full Entry]

I did not want to leave from London!! I had the most awesome weekend, and it was all thanx to my friend Bob! I got into Victoria bus station on Saturday afternoon. I met Bob and we had lunch with a bottle of Chilean wine which hit the spot. We hung out at Russell Gardens for a bit before I went to my hostel. By the time we headed to Wembley stadium for the A.R Rahman concert, we knew we were going to be late. It was raining (how typical!) and the buses were packed with brown folks. Plus Bob & [View Full Entry]

I went to Bath and it was beautiful! It is the only Roman bathhouse that is still preserved, and the only one in Britain with natural hot springs. I took tons of pics..the cathedral was really pretty but they charge for everything! Even to get into the park. I went shopping in Bath and it's good fun because they just have a huge stretch of malls and stores. And it's another very historic town, very very pretty, too hard to describe in words. It's definetly a place I would recommend anyone that visits England to see. [View Full Entry]

Plutney bridge

It feels amazing to have no drama around me. Usually I'm surrounded with family gossip and problems, gossip among friends, etc. But here, because I am so cut off from the rest of world due to the fact that I have no net or a proper cell phone. I don't have to take crap from anyone!! No drama from family, from friends cuz they all miss me and love me right now..and definetly no man drama! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!! In the beginning the idea of seclusion scared me, but now after weeks of having nothing to do but [View Full Entry]

The girls and I went to the beer garden at the Lion's Pub. It was really nice, with an outdoor heater cuz today was really cold for some reason. We met up with a few other teachers for some drinks, but apparently most of the pubs close here at 11pm!! It's prolly cuz the English really do have a passion for drinking, to the point it's prolly not that healthy. They're pubs are even child-friendly, with play areas in the garden and children menus. It was a bit mind-boggling that you would bring your child to the pub, while you get [View Full Entry]

Harrow House

One week at Harrow House as an English teacher...it's been good. It was my first time in London yesterday, we took the students on an exursion for the day. We took a boat tour on the Thames and took some pics. Why is that I never knew a river ran through London?!? I felt pretty stupid, how the hell did I miss that? We also went to Covent Gardens afterwards which is a very big and popular shopping area in the middle of the city. London reminds me a lot of Toronto....crazy shops, pedestrians everywhere, traffic, tourists, homeless people, pure CHAOS! [View Full Entry]

It feels like I have waited so long to come to Europe. I did live in Germany for 3 years when I was younger, but this is so much different. And living in a country is also much different to being a tourist; it allows you to soak in the true nature of the place, both the good and the bad because when you live somewhere, you are bound to come across bad days because it's not a vacation anymore. This is a first for me in many aspects: -my first time in England -my first time travelling and living on [View Full Entry]
