I open my eyes as the pilot's voice erupts over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are landing soon at Hong Kong International Airport...". Fifi is still sleeping soundly. I nudge her gently. The journey seems fast because we are tired and sleep through the four hours. Gazing out of the window, I see HK looming below... here I come, HK! Initially the trip wasn't intended to be so soon, maybe another two years... but plans changed, and Fifi wasnt tie to any job at that moment, so she was more than happy to go back to HK just to be my tour guide! yippee! I went to Singapore a day before, to fly with Jetstar the budget airline. It saves me alot of money. Overall, I plan for a 10-day-trip (August 16th-25th 2007). Places I ... read more

The trip took place in March 2007, and I was writing about it halfway when Travelblog faced the big problem, and my unpublished but saved entry was gone...so here I am now, working on it once again :) I made my way to Singapore in March this year. The last time I was there, it was 16 years ago... other than getting a break, the other reason was to meet my sister Angie - hadnt seen her for 2 years! 5 hours bus journey from KL, I reached JB at 6pm. Ray was waiting for me and I overnight in JB at her place. The next day, I took the causeway bus to Singapore for only seventy cents. I crossed over to Kranji MRT, waited for an hour before Angie came. It was good to meet ... read more

Dense vegetation clings to every surface; Steep slopes and vertical cliffs reach summit ridges before dropping to hidden valleys; Jagged limestone pinnacles, bleached white, pierce the lush green canopy; Cave passages wind their way through the mountains, opening into chambers so large you are dwarfed to insignificance. During my trip back to Sarawak late last month, I had the opportunity to travel to Mulu Caves. Actually I did plan to go to Mulu some day, but little did I expect it to be this soon - that everything would turn out this way, hehehe... Differing from my original plan, I was supposed to go with Justin somewhere next year (maybe!) when he visits Miri for the first time - and I thought I would be looking forward to it greatly! However, things didn't turn out as ... read more

Yipee... today is going to be my last working day for this month, hehehe... not that I'm quitting or anything... but I will be goin back to my hometown for a 2 weeks break. Really excited because the last time I went back was in January. Erm, actually it wasn't that long ago anyway, but since I managed to get some cheap air tickets, might as well go home to meet my family! I miss them, and miss the food back home too, hahaha... :) Besides, another attraction for me this time is going to be my trip to Mulu Caves. Being a Sarawakian, my colleagues and friends here in KL actually laugh at me that I haven't been to Mulu Caves yet! But isn't that always the case? I have a KL friend that's ... read more

I went to the island of Bali in June this year (29th June - 2nd July 2006). Heard of it a lot especially after the bombings, and many are reluctant to travel there due to this. However I would like to assure you, regardless of what happened, the beauty of the place remains untouched. Balinese culture is rich, unique and authentic despite the tourist invasion. It is a worthwhile journey to me since it's also the first holiday I had since I started work, with all the expenses from my own pocket! Yeap! My own money!! hehehe... Day 1 : 29th June 2006 My day begun at 5.30am as I tried to catch the earliest LRT (Light Rail Transit) before switching to the coach which will take me to LCC Terminal. After meeting my friends at ... read more

Great day - great seafood! When Fifi came to town, I managed to spend a good deal of 'quality' time with her Other than eating, eating and more eating, we actually planned a day-trip to Pulau Ketam. What begun with 8 ppl, ended up with only 3 of us, hahahaha : Anson, Fifi and I. Didn't matter though, coz we still had a blast of a time there. We started our journey at 7am, had our breakfast near my house before proceeding to KL Sentral to meet Anson. We took the train to Port Klang as that's the cheapest and most convenient way for us 3.... and it took about an hr to reach. From Port Klang, we took a speedboat to Pulau Ketam. You don't have to queue for tickets here, just get into the ... read more

During the 2 weeks easter break, we planned a trip to Rottnest Island. Had been hearing alot about it, most people said it's a one-day trip, but this time, our 'boss' William Lim planned a 3d2n stay. I remember feeling so excited and anxious at the same time weeks before the actual departure. Rottnest Island is directly off the Perth coast. It provides all that is required for a relaxing get-away. Coral reefs make for fantastic diving and snorkelling; hidden bays and deserted cycle paths wait to be explored. The small marsupial quokka - similar to a small Kangaroo - only exists on this island, and in some parts they have become very tame. Day 1: 15th April 2004 Had an early breakfast and took a bus from Bentley's Curtin bus stop to Fremantle. Along the ... read more
