As always apologies as the blog is nearly a month behind we are....so I will try to fill in whar happened after La Paz. We left La Paz to begin the journey up to Cusco in Peru, with the constant aim of making it in time for the inca trail, and we were on schedule. We travelled north from La Paz to Lake Titicaca, one of the worlds highest lakes at around 3,800 metres above sea level. It was an incredible experience to drive across the mountains at such high altitude to then meet what literally looks like the sea. The [View Full Entry]

And so to La Paz, one of Bolivia´s largest cities and one of the worlds highest (at 3600m above sea level); a stunning and incredible place. We arrived from Cochabamba to be met with the stunning view as your enter the city, as you drive for hours across the barren antiplano before arriving into the huge city. The city itself is built into a bowl shape, with the spectacular mount Illamani in the distance, and is an incredible place visually. Our first few days we spent aclimatising to the altitude (it is surprisingly difficult to walk up the stairs at such [View Full Entry]

Again we must apologise for not updating the blog, it is actually about three weeks behind our actual travels so we will try to run through what has happened through part one of Bolivia (we are returning for part two in November), and our first leg in Peru. Backtracking to the last entry in Brazil we crossed the border and headed to Santa Cruz via the "Death Train" - a 24 hour nightmare journey that we would not wish on anyone, as it was absolutely horrific and painfully uncomfortable. When we finally arrived in Santa Cruz we headed straight for the [View Full Entry]

Apologies for the lack of up dates since we left Rio a few weeks ago, the computers we have encountered have generally been throw backs from the dark ages. This first entry will run through what happened from leaving Rio through to Bolivia, and a second entry will run through Bolivia so far.... We left Rio and took a grueling 26 hour coach journey to Campo Grande in Mato Grosso do Sul, which is described as the 'gateway to the Pantanal', where we were going to embark on a 4 day / 3 night tour of the area. The Pantanal is [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone, we have just arrived in Campo Grande after spending the week in Rio so its about time to give an update on how things have gone so far.... We last updated the blog whilst on Ilha do Mel, which we left as the weather turned pretty nasty, and unfortunately stayed that way in southern Brazil for a week. As we are in the tail end of Brazilian winter it is quite common to be wet, but the rain seemed to follow us up the coast. We headed back to Curitiba on the mainland which was very difficult as the [View Full Entry]

Apologies for lack of updates, so far the only computers we have been able to access seem to date back to the dark ages, hence lack of photos too, so as a result this may be rather long.... We are currently on a little island east of Parangua in Brazil and have come across the only decent computer. So, from our last couple of days in Argentina we visited a small town called Tigre about 20Km from Buenos Aires. In Argentina this is a weekend destination built on a riverway and has small houses on stilts, we caught a little boat [View Full Entry]

We are finally here in Buenos Aires, Argentina!!! After planning this so long we have had our first three days in the Argentinian capital and it has been excellent. The easiest way to describe BA is as a very cosmopolitan, very big and very busy city. It has a very european feel, and we feel it is like a cross between a spanish and italian city with new york. It has the mixture of bright lights at night, huge buildings, masses of people and a buzz across the whole place. We arrived on Tuesday and after 24 hours of travelling were [View Full Entry]
