2 Guys a Girl and Gym......in China

So, I got a gym membership at the local gym ( about a 10 min walk) I decided to go for my first workout this Sunday afternoon, I went by myself being all brave.... I walk into the gym, and it is super nice, but NO air conditioning :(, oh well... I enter the work out area and there are two people in the gym. One guy who works there and another guy who is working out. Okay, so i go to the elliptical, the guy who works at the gym can speak a little bit of English, helps me set the TV up and gets "men in black playing for me" he then informs me this machine is so old, nobody has used it for 6 years... Today I........... Got a blood samples taken from me ( yes I did cry a little)..eek Gave a urine Sample Chest Xrays ECG Ultrasounds Eye Test Blood Pressure Colour Eye test All within less than 2 hours, including regsitration and everything. Now that is effiecnt. Lets hope everything comes back that I have good health so I can get my Working Visa for teaching. It is amazing how everything went so quickly.... read more

I tried to use my washing machine last night........ Of course it was all in chinese, but I figure I used a japanese one I couldn't read for two years, so this should be easy. My washining machine is on my patio deck outside. I start it, come back like 30 minuites later and the tub is full with water. I press some buttons, leave and come back again. The tub is still full of water. I do this again about 4 times, as it gets darker outside I am doing it quicker and quicker to avoid the bugs from enetering my apartment. Went for dinner yesterday to a resturant reccommended by people at the school.... It was known for it's BBQ'ed Donkey! Yup... Donkey! It was too chewy for my liking, but other guy who is teaching with us loved it...... read more

Well, I have arrived in China!! Yay….. (I think). Cleared customs without getting my cosmo, people and fifty shades of grey reading materials confiscated=overall successful! There are 11 teachers that I came over with. Before leaving the security area, we got a nice pep talk from our ‘Chaperone’ aka ‘ James’ Dad’ “ I don't know what will happen after we walk through these gates, but they are paying for experts, so be confident.’ Then Bam! Out the gates and the craziness began. We were all greeted with HUGE bouquets of flowers and vans to pick us up and take us to our designated schools. Lots of people and pictures.
