After we went to Morocco we headed out for Vienna via Frankfurt. We found out the night before we flew out that the airport we were flying into was actually 70 km outside of Frankfurt. That was a bummer to learn, however, it saved us money since we ended up staying the night in the train station. Which I have to add was not to shabby since there we stayed in the Banhoff Mission which served tea and gave a warm place for people to stay while waiting for their trains. The first day of our trip consisted of waking up at 3 am. I dont want to ever wake up that early again. We made it safely to Girona and had only been out of the bus station maybe 2 minutes when we needed to cross the street. I was the last one of the four of walking when BAM!!! So this past weekend Katie, Andrea, and I decided to take a weekend trip to Dublin. We began our trip Saturday afternoon and man was that a stressful time. It took us an hour by bus to get to the airport and arrived a decent two hours early. So you know how in the States you get a printed ticket. YAY for Turkey day!!! As you can see I am super excited that although I am in England for the year I was still able to celebrate Thanksgiving. Cooking for Thanksgiving offically began on Tuesday night with Carrie and Erin starting the pies. In all they ended up making 7 pies!!!! I know an insane amount but I will let you know why. So Thanksgiving consisted of the 12 people in from the flat, people involved in the program, the German churches' pastor, and the students we invited from the university. Sorry about taking so long to finally add this. But anyway during the weekend on the 9-11 of November we took another flat trip and this time we went to Bath and Salisbury. We began the trip on Friday with Bob driving us down to Bath. Since the drive took forever we were able to go off in groups to do whatever. As you can probably guess from the title of the blog I happen to have found Northern Wales to be absolutely amazing. The views were spectacular everywhere we went. 'Ello there! So this weekend consisted of all around amazingness begining with our flat trip to London. We left our flat around 6:20 on Saturday morning and made it to the train station by 7. We made it to London by 9:30 and began our London experience by waiting in line for discount tickets for musicals. I even got a ticket for Cabaret! But more about that later. Well hope you all are doing swell! This weekend was full of meeting native Nottinghamers. Saturday I went with Katie to have dinner with a local family. Their names were Mavis and Keith and they were a lovely retired couple. We arrived at their Bungalow around four and didnt end up leaving til around eight! But I must say I really enjoyed myself. Its like having another set of grandparents. They told us all about their kids and their grandkids, where they have traveled in the U.S. and how much they love visiting Decorah. So even though registration produced some unhappy times I have quite enjoyed this week. Kia and I have discovered the wonderfullness of the local green grocer. We wondered in to the store and were immediately greeted by the owners. These ladies were very pleasant and even provided us with a free piece of fruit of our choice.Thursday we ventured over to our directors house to attempt some apple picking.
