So Nice pretty much rocks my socks. Out train seemed to take forever so we didnt get to Nice til evening and began our stay with what we do best, wondering the city. As for that night my goodness I experienced a major sensory overload. So I guess the hostel we are staying at has about 100 other american students staying here at the same time as us and it seems like all of them were in the hostel bar on friday night. Ahhhh they were so loud and it was quite strange it be surrounded by people with American accents. [View Full Entry]

Paris: Day 2

 Europe » France » Île-de-France » Paris
April 2nd Bonjour!!!! So today was another free walking tour and it was almost 4 hours long! The thour was super sweet but we had a hard time even getting there. So we get to the metro, go about 3 stops when an announcement comes on that I of course could understand maybe tree words of but kind of understood due to the massive amount of people getting off the metro. Not totally sure what was going on and the only French I am able to mutter is Cest termine and luckily some woman understood what i was trying to say [View Full Entry]

April 3rd Anyway today was our second day in Paris and no troubles with the metro, thank goodness. First activity of the day was a visit to the Louvre. Did you know that if you were to spend a mere 30 seconds at every painting it would take you four years to get through the museum! Man that is way much more time then we spent there. We saw Venus de Milo, The Mona Lisa, the painting is actually quite small, Napoleon's Apartments, Coronation Crown of Louis XV, Gnome with Snail, The Winged Victory of Samothrace (both statues and the latter [View Full Entry]

Paris: Day 1

 Europe » France » Île-de-France » Paris
So we now are officially in Paris. Our first day here was the first of April and we made it to our hostl safely. Ther hostel is not too bad, except that we are located kind of in the sketchy area of town. This part of Paris is quite similar to Morocco so Katie and I are playing it safe and tramming everywhere. One of the first things we did was of course explore the city. We went to the Sacré Coeur, or the Sacred Heart. This Basilica was buildt between 1875-1914 and is the higest point in Paris. The view [View Full Entry]

Well we took the longest train ride of my life, 16 hours, but we finally made it to Brugges, Belgium. First of all we stayed at a hostel called the Snuffle Spot, which I found amusing. Ahhh, but the town here is beautiful. All the houses are quaint with their old brick walls and fences. We saw one of the cathedrals which contained amazing paintings and wall hangings. Then Katie and I walked along the canal to one of the "romantic" spots mentioned on this super detailed map we got from the hostel. There we had our usual feast of bread [View Full Entry]

Beautiful Berlin

Europe » Germany » District of Berlin » Berlin
March 25- 27th Well as you can tell the next leg of our journey took place in Berlin. Right away we experienced lots of good things. We found our hostel and when we checked in they moved us from a 10 person room to an 8 person room for the same price. Then when we walked into the room I see Katie just stop and point to someone sitting on the bed. Turns out it was Danae, an American girl we play rugby with at Nottingham. Crazy we were in the same room because we didnt even know she was going [View Full Entry]

March 22-25th Well Andrea and I had made it to Amsterdam nice and safe on the morning of the 22nd and rushed to Bobs Youth hostel to see if they had any walk in spots open. And sure enough I think we ended up getting some of the last available beds. Then we wasted time til Katie got there by trying to find this library that had free internet. we had been at the train station and left there in search of the library which ended up taking almost two hours because the library we had been searching for no longer [View Full Entry]

March 19-21st Well the next part of our adventure brought me to Liechtenstein. No not many people know where that is let alone visit there but I actually chose this part of the trip, though I have no idea why. To begin, in case I havent told you this already, Liechtenstein is the 6th smallest country and the world's largest producers of dentures. Random yes, but I have been tellign everyone I know because I find it interesting that these are the fun facts listed in the guide book. Anyway on our first day there Andrea and I walked though the [View Full Entry]

Europe Aventure Part 2: Ma;ta

 Europe » Malta » Malta
Hiya so I am actually going to try to write some blogs during break. So Easter break is forever long over here. It started on March 13th and goes til April 13th, which through this time we have to leave the flat and go exploring. My break began on kind of a rocky note. The day we were meant to leave I still hadnt receieved a confirmation saying that I had booked my flight to Malta so I was getting a little anxious. By the time we had reached the airport in London I had had around 3 hours to worry [View Full Entry]

So last night as I was desperately trying to fall asleep but failing due to too much coffee. However it did not matter because at around 1 am this morning my bed started starting shaking as though someone was standing at the end shaking the bedpost as hard as they could. I of course was freaking out to myself because I wasnt sure what was going on or if I was just imagining things because I was so tired. Not only was the bed shaking like it was possessed but I could hear the walls shaking as well and our desks [View Full Entry]
