Disney Castle
Disney Castle
I'm afraid I had to get one picture of it in!
Apologies - currently unable to restore. If you have a backup please edit this entry and save/publish. There is a small possibility that this entry will be restored - only small. So finally I get to catch up with the weekend that was Disney. We had our first flight with Southwest Airlines which was suprisingly good. Cheasper than Easyjey and much more enjoyable. We managed to save a further wad of cash by working out how to use the public busses ontop of the money we saved in Washington thanks to Vicky. When we finally got the the hotel we were [View Full Entry]

So Las Vegas this week. We had a great time and in the tradition of things, came back down on money, a whole 25 cents!!! It was hard watching other people sat a tables playing…well for me anyway, I don’t think Vicky minded, but traveling on a budget meant there wasn’t really much room to go out and blow a load of money. That said, we still had a great time and I did get to use my 25 cents so I can say that I have gambled in Vegas. Started off with a hellish 9 hour greyhound journey through some [View Full Entry]

There is a small possibility that this entry will be restored - only small. Well here I am coming out of a very different/wierd/tiring weekend. We went down to Tucson on Friday afternoon with Mark to meet a few of his friends and have a couple of nights out. It took about 90 minutes to get there which seemed to pass quite quickly watching such unusual (for me at least) scenery go by. For miles and miles all you could see were cacti and mountains (and the state prison at one point - talk about high security!) When we got to [View Full Entry]

So its not been such a busy day today but an enjoyable one nevertheless. We have most of our travel details sorted now so we are off to Vegas Next week ans San Francisco at the end of the month. As for the rest of the day, I was hoping to use the pool again but no such luck. As iI was outside, you could see large grey clouds on the horizon and by the time I reache the roof terrace here I could hear the thunder in the distance. After the initial dissappointment of bad weather I decided it would [View Full Entry]

The Desert

This is the type of Desert wilderness we enjoyed on our walk.
So its been a while, for once through pure idleness rather than lack of access though. We arrived in Phoenix just under a week ago now and it is such a different place than anywhere else so far. We've done a huge city, tropical marshland and now the desert. Its nice to be mixing it up. The flight was good and it had the bonus of landing 40 mins early amazingly. Still had to wait when we got there though because we didn't see Rebecca who was picking us up. We were both stood at opposite ends of the baggage claim [View Full Entry]

Allo, Who Iz Eeet?

So second full day in Fort Lauderdale now. Yesterday was nice, got some food in and went for a walk down to the beach (much further than we thought!!!) Was very nice down there, looks like a holiday programme with the crystal clear waters ect. Very busy too, but I suppose it was a saturday. There were so many family's around having bbq's, I think me and Vicky were both very jealous. Its cool the way they do it though, they have picnic benches and bbq on the top half of the beach, so anyone can just turn up and use [View Full Entry]

A bit of Bob Marley for those who didn't already know! Finally on a free computer so managed to notice I had an unpublished blog entry from NY. It should be there for all to see now, not sure why it didn't go up to begin with? So, Florida now and we're in a hostel in Ft. Lauderdale. Got a greyhound down yesterday from Orlando (will do another retrospective on that asap, hotel had internet, but it was $12 an hour!) Arrived yesterday evening after a 5 and a half hour journey. Starting to get used to that though so I [View Full Entry]

I'll make this quick because I already wrote once. Has been a very interesting week here. Stranded in A (very Nice) hotel in Chantilly near Washington. Would have cost over $40 each to get anywhere for a day so have had some down time after New York and caught up on a few films ect. Just had constant rolling news on this Virginia College thing. All the more appropriate as the guy went to school in the town we were in and grew up in the next town along! No mention of it out and about though, don't know if thats [View Full Entry]

So finally got to DC toady after getting the Greyhound to the area five days ago!!! We have been stranded in a hotel all week (see other entry). Had amazing weather, think it was about 25 degrees or 80F for the older ones :-p. In the space of about three hours we managed to get in all of the major monuments, Washington Memorial, Lincoln, Whitehouse, Capitol Hill, Union Station. Was tiring, but very worth it although it did involve having to walk the whole route with our backpacks because we were on the way to the greyhound bus to get back [View Full Entry]
