I slept until 10 as I was tired then went for along walk. I walked down to Lake Ontario and along the waterfront then up to Roger Stadium and the CN Tower. I went round some shops, it was nice to find different shops and different clothes. The staff were very nice and always took my clothes and put them in the changing rooms. I did notice that the first few shops I went in didn't have mirrors and not all had mirrors outside the changing room either. It did make trying clothes on slightly harder. I did buy a top. I wandered about and drifted up to China Town and Kensington Market. I bought some fresh vegetables and meat which I carted back to the hostel and then went down to the metro to buy ... read more

There was a layover of 2 hours 40 minutes until the bus for Toronto. The bus stop was very seedy. I would have felt more comfortable in the rough end of Harlem. There were so many dodgey looking people. Eventually I got on the bus and we set off, I managed some sleep but I watched the sun rise more. We stopped for a Burger King Breakfast at 8 so I only got a cuppa as the thought of grease for breakfast made my stomach churn. We had to change buses again at midday and I slept abit in the afternoon. When we got to Toronto I walked about 5 blocks across and then reaslied I had about another 6 to go. So crashed at the hostel. I was so hungry I got chilli from the ... read more

I checked out and went off to do the freedom trail!! I went to the Holocaust Museum which was 6 thin glass towers with steam coming out off them. You walked through them and on every centimetre of glass there were numbers from the bottom all the way to the top and there was a plaque either side which had a comment on from a surviver or a soldier or a memory of what someone had said. I walked round most of the sights but I was so tired I didn't want to do a couple of places and after getting lost but having done the main parts I decided to get the subway back!!Boston definitely has the worst metro trains-they are so squeaky and noisy and even sitting in a seat you have to hold ... read more

Had the slowest morning getting things sorted and finally left about half 11. I waited so long for the bus but got to Harvard. I got lunch then had an hour until the tour so just pottered about. Harvard has a lot of spires - mostly on buildings which used to be churches and some which still are. Harvard is a pretty and relaxing places. I loved the feel of the place. It reminded me a lot of Cambridge back home with the college spread out over the river and the old buildings. The tour was very interesting - taken by a 4th grader called Merren. We were taken round the Harvard yard, which is the most historic part of the school. The tour was very interesting and learnt a lot about the school. Students live ... read more

Got up later as I was so tired and everyone in my room had left. I went up to the aquarium which was really good. Saw penguins, an octopus, sea dragons and 2 species of sea horses. I touched a starfish and a horn crab. Saw sharks, sting rays and other animals I hadn't before. I wandered up to the same market and shopping area as yesterday. I went into Victoria Secret, urban outfitters and looked around lots of other places. I bought a donut and slushy from dunkin' donuts, a hot dog and ice cream. I watched some very entertaining street theatre and got the metro to Arlington and walked through this gorgeous park and came out opposite the original Cheers bar. I looked round and then went through the common. There were about 15 ... read more

Got up earlier than I thought which was a good thing as when I got to the aquarium lots of people were already there. I had taken 3 sturgeon to make sure I wouldn't get sea sick. We boarded the boat and I went straight to the top deck at the front but once the boat started moving I went toe the bottom at the back as I figured it was better for me and ate hersheys-thought it would help. There was only one time when I felt slightly uneasy. We traveled for about an hour and a half. We saw white sided dolphins first which started swimming round part of the boat. We could see spurts of water in the distance and finally we saw our first whale. There were about 8 or 9 humpback ... read more
