Today I decided to spend some time walking around and just shopping. London has this amazing fashion and I wanted to buy some cheap pieces to transform me into that. I was buying accessories and wearing them as I was walking around. My favourite store is Top Shop...especially the one in Oxford Circus. Its huge and has so many awesome things. I didn't buy anything there because I don't want to spend too much money and have to buy another piece of luggage. I did get some awesome boots for £20...which is cheap, even for Canadian standards. Its really difficult to get my stomach and mind back to London time. I wasn't hungry until 5:00 today (about when I would have lunch in Spain) and I made myself eat dinner at 8:30 otherwise I wasn't sure ... read more

I ended up going to the beach! The Valencia beach was so gorgeous with this fine fine sand. The only problem with fine sand is that if there is any wind (which there was) and you're wearing sunscreen (which I was) you end up with a lot of sand on you. I had sand absolutely everywhere! But it was so nice! After that I organized my things for the airplane. I find I need to give myself sometime to go through my things once and awhile just to concentrate them down to one package. Then I just hung out around the hostel because I was still pretty tired. But not tired enough not to go out again. I met the guys from Texas in the hostel common room and we headed off for another night on ... read more

I packed up my things from Barcelona yesterday and headed to the bus station. The earliest bus was a 'supra' bus (like higher class). It was only five more € so instead of waiting around for two more hours, I decided to indulge myself! The seats were luxurious, and we got a gift bag filled with goodies. When I got into Valencia I went about with errands - supermarket, lunch and laundry. I met someone from San Antonio Texas while I was doing my laundry and we made plans to go out with his buddy to dinner later. I love meeting people that invite me out so that I don't just hang out by myself at the hostel! Anyways at about 11:30 we went out for dinner. We went to this chinese/spanish/?? fusion place that was ... read more

Today I went to the beach, even though it was overcast and read for five hours. It was awesome! The waves were crashing on the sand and the sounds were great. Vendors walk through the beaches selling beer, sarongs, massages... seriously massages. They even have a card that shows you the muscles in your body. I bought nothing...especially the massage. I left all my time pieces at home so I was amazed when a couple stationed behind me said ¨So its four o´clock, do you want to stay until 5 or do you want to leave¨ I was super surprised! No wonder I was hungry! I found a great restaurant and had sangria, a ham and cheese bocadillo and patatas bravas. Delicious. Then I went up the tram all the way to the Montjuic area and ... read more

I am back in Spain and loving it! yesterday I strolled around La Rambla, saw the huge market and walked around el barrio gotic to see the cathedral. The market was nuts! I bought fresh strawberry banana juice from a fruit stand. They have everything, full pigs, heads of lambs ( after seeing all the little lambs in Scotland that was gross). I am permanently in relaxation mode here. I'm having a hard time keeping to the program because I love wandering around the streets here. It's so beautiful! After I went for lunch (a full three course Spanish lunch), I ran into a couple I met during my crazy barcelona train ride who told me to go to Park Guill. Park guill is the park from Gaudi's concepts of a fantasy land park. It is ... read more

On th 18th Krista, Dan, Pat and I (see mom...I remembered!) went to Monaco. Monaco is awesome. Its so wealthy. I saw so many gorgeous yachts that I am ready to own at any time! We saw the Grand Prix setting up and the famous tunnel. We also walked up to the Palace . The view from the Palace Hill is AMAZING. Afterwards we found the Monaco beach, which is mostly pebbles, and laid there for a while. Hard life, I know. We ran into another group from the hostel and talked to them for a bit. After trying to find the bus ride home, and surviving crazy tourists trying to force their way on, we relaxed at the hostel for my last night there. I loved Nice. Villa Saint Exupery made Nice almost like a ... read more

I met a whole bunch of people at my hostel last night. Which was great! this morning me and Christa were going to go and do the beach...but then we found out that all our friends were going to Cannes, so we changed our minds at the train station and headed there! On the way out we accidentally sat in first class (which is not much different, except for the table). We met up with our friends in Cannes. We must have looked like an interesting group: two Canadian girls, four Brazilian guys and one Irishman. We went to the beach and just hung out at Cannes. It was so much fun. Now its one of the Brazilian guy's birthday so we're hanging out in the bar in the hostel. Good fun! I only have ONE ... read more

I went to Cannes today. It was awesome! I also went to Antibes which is this beautiful mediterranean city. The best part was having lunch while four Spainish film workers of some sort were discussing stuff. Super cool. I also saw Quinton Tarantino and Juliette Binoche and an official red carpet. I went to the beach in my dress and just hung out there for a very long time. I'm not even burned (that much!). ... read more

So yesterday was...an adventure. I got to the train station in Milan with plenty of time, I checked the board like a pro and I was encouraged because the intercom kept saying Nice...I obviously didn't understand the rest of the Italian. Because of a strike in France the train could only go to the border town of Ventimiglia. Then we had to get off and wait for an hour and a half for another train. After I was assured of my way to Nice, I realized What an adventure! My hostel in Nice is awesome! They have everything. They even have a person going around at breakfast asking if you need any sightseeing help. Today I'm going to cannes antimes and another beach town. I can't believe I ever worried about meeting people! To be honest, ... read more

Today was awesome! I went to Duomo the HUGE cathedral but I couldn't go in because I was wearing a skirt . Then I had breakfast at McCafe ... Mcdonalds where you can get a cappucino and some delicious pastries. Then I found out how to get to the arena were AC Milan and Inter Milan plays. I went through the museum there and got a tour. It was so cool. The arena is huge and divided into five colours of seats= green (for AC Milan), blue ( for Inter), red and orange for neutral ( although the red is better than the orange) and the grey for VIPs. If you are a crazy fan you sit in your team's section on the first balcony... the only place you can stand. I also got to go ... read more
