hi, i've been reading your entries on the phils. since i'm from the phils, just curious on how foreigners think and experienced on their trip to our country, find your blog entries very interesting. and that you're a very cool person in that you dont let bad experiences discourage you, on the contrary, you try to find some humor on them. i kept laughing at some of your stories, like the taxi driver incident, etc. i was also touched by the hospitality lyndie and her family extended to you. the filipinos are really one of the kindest and friendliest people in the world, its not that i'm bragging, bec. i'm a chinese who lives here, not a filipina. if u do encounter bad people, thieves etc, its because of extreme poverty that drove them to do it.... so i hope you will still come back here next time :)

hi.. i was having fun reading your blog.. yes.. you're right about Manila... it's as crazy as what you were thinking... heaps of prostitutes or may i say ..GRO... ahaha.. I should've brought you to some nice places here in Cebu.. but that day i could not think of anything ..cos im so tired...really tired!!! Queensland a better place though, lol... remember "Queensland"? haha that bloke is so funny..uhm, in the other hand, the first thing in my mind is to bring you to Portofino beach.. it's a white sand beach... but, sadly, that taxi driver gave me or us the shits...like duh!!! There are lots of nice places here in Cebu. All you need to do is stay for a couple of days... Not as what you did.. You only stayed for 2 nights, am i right?... Better luck next time.. hihihi

How was ur kerala visit? - From: Back in Incredible India
Hi Davie (picked the name from another comment ) :) How was ur kerala visit? I guess it rained pretty heavily there. Anyway, to add to what you have perceived, not every indian believes in a rigid caste system or that beef eating people stink or that muslims cannot be trusted. But, a good majority believes in all the above said things. I am a hindu, but i dont really go to temples much. And a lot of my buddies are muslims. I eat beef. I think some people stink because they don't take bath or shave their underarms. I just wanted to comment so that your friends or anyone who reads the article doesn't think that an average Indian thinks the way Pooja's friend thinks. Probably, she just needs some spanking to get her mind set right. As in all countries, there are good people and bad people in India. I am honestly sorry if any foreigner is taken advantage of or cheated. But, its all about finding a reliable person before you really make your visit. I myself would be glad to help any visiting foreigner (no, hidden costs, lol), provided i have enough time. (I am a techie and sometimes i work about 12-14 hrs a day). I reside in Bangalore, but hail from Kerala. Hope you had a nice time there. I would be looking forward to your latest blogs..

The communists are not doing anything right, they just are not programmed that way. What they have done is introduce strikes at the drop of a hat and organize labour union in Kerala, so that apart from agriculture there is not industry worth its name in that state. So every family in Kerala has a person working in Gulf countries or USA or Europe, or the rest of India. These people slave it away in foriegn countries and remit money home. That is where the obvious wealth of the state is from. So much for the commies doing anything right.

Go to any private hospital there in Kerala, ask anyone for it, they will guide you. Private medical service in India is one of the best you would get anywhere in the world. Stay after from government hospitals. Hope you get better soon.
