A spring break adventure I had was climbing all the way to the top of the vatican. Steph , Noemi , Mary , Mr.Dorcy along with a few others climbed too. It was a tireing expirience because we had to climb up about 800 steps and they were all diffrent sizes. Some steps were really steep , some were narrow and some had a swril to them. I went up running out of breath but as I climbed up I gave myself strenght to keep going because my legs were burning very bad. Along the way we got to stop and see the vatican from a birds eyes , which was an incredible view. When I finally got to the top , about 30 minuets later, the view left me spechless. It says that Kony is behind a mission to take children away from their families and trains the boys for the army and uses girls as sex slaves. This article also explained how the film Russel a supporter is trying to show awareness for Kony and ways the public could support this movement. One of the ways was by making him famous since most people don't know about him or the problems of Uganda. 2. How does your current event relate to topics or ideas that we have discussed in world history. Explain fully This relates to slavery. What they do is make people work for them and then threaten them since they know they are vulnerable. Common day slavery is when people use others 2. Why does this movement against human sex trafficking connect to the legacy of President Lincoln? It connects back to lincoln because he abolished slavery yet it is still going on and slavey has been banned for years. This also ties back and shows you that things have evolve form plantation slavery to human trafficking. 3. Describe the Polaris project. What do you think about this project? Food: Pico de Gallo 1. The origin of the recipe are from Mexico and my family makes this side dish more than once throught the month. This is a dish that is served in practically all Mexican homes and is a way to use fresh 2. My family identifies with Pico de Gallo a lot because it is a typical Mexican side dish. My family uses this dish with a combination of tacos usually or with tortillas to give them taste. It also incorporates the colors of the Mexican flag which represent our heritage. 3. I believe people should be able to have a variety of food options because everyone is diffrent therefore their should be a food choice for everyone. What are some of the reasons that books are banned in high schools? Do you agree with any of these reasons? Explain. The books that are banned are because parents think the books to be too sexual , foul language or provide a negative message. The books are also getting challenged because they believe the books are not age appropriate. What reasons do you NOT agree with (this means that you think high school students SHOULD be able to read about these topics). Why? I think high school students should be able to read what they please without restrictions. I believe high school students know better and choosen the books they read based on their own interests. By banning the books teens are going to want to seek out the book because they would become curious ... read more

1. Do you agree with Castiglione's description of what makes a man IDEAL? Why or why not? Do you think men like that exist today? I would agree to an extent with his description. I agree because like he said a man who can protect , is well educated and knows how to dress. I disagree with how he only wants to be associated with high class because that shouldn't matter. I would say there are very few men who do all these types of things now a day. This ia probbaly because society has put an emphases on other characteristics of a man. 2. Why do you think Castiglione THOUGHT men should live and act the way he described? I believe he wanted someone who had qualities similar to his. By doing that people would ... read more

1.Celebrate your history at UICCP: What is a mountain that you think you have climbed since your time here at UICCP? Be specific and explain. What helped you cross this mountain? I have overcome my dislike for math and being tolerant of the strict curiculam UICCP offers. I have overcome my dislike for math when I was failing Algebra 2 my junior yeaa. I have always disliked math because math has not been a subject that comes easliely to me. The reason I became tolerant with math was because I had to take SES classes for math after school . At this time Mr. Insalaco was the math instuctor and he made me practice problems over and oer until I got them right. Eveventually it became easier to solve problems , so I learned that all ... read more
