W końcu ..........after exactly 4 years in London I decided to take a break from the hussle and bustle and treat myself to a 'round the world' ticket.

18th May 2007 - my last working day in London. Weekend in Holland with my friends, then 3 weeks in Poland to recharge my batteries and I'm off. On 13th June 2007 my adventure will begin......

Just to explain, the Thai use "same same but different" when dealing with tourists' questions. As this doesn't make sense if not fully explained it confuses (and very often frustrates) foreigners e.g. "why are you telling me that the tour you're offering today is same same but different to that tour tomorrow?!". it means "Yes, something kind of similar to that, but not the exact same thing" just like in the following example: "- So the bus at 9am to Bangkok is full, is there another bus leaving today? - Yes, same same, but different." in this case, "same same, but different" means that the bus has the same route but a different departure time P.S. There will be at least one more entry with photos from Thailand.... read more

I flew into Singapore from Perth on 20th Jan. After 7 weeks spent with friends in Australia i found it really hard to resume backpacking, alone. Believe me, the first couple of days in Singapore were awful! Luckily i wasn't alone for any longer. Roxanne, who was staying in the same hostel, had similar plans so we happily decided to hook up:-) P.S. Apologies for not putting any photos from Australia, there's HEAPS to choose from and i would struggle with having to go through them all now. But one day i will. ... read more

I spent two weeks on gorgeous Yasawa islands, west from the main island Viti Levu. I decided not to go east as the rainy season had just started, apparently Yasawas receive much less rain than the eastern region of Fiji. In total i visited 8 islands and stayed in 9 different resorts, plus one night on a boat - you know how i like to keep myself busy:-) The islands were stunning, as you will see on the photos! ... read more

You will not believe when looking at the photos but 80% of time i've spent in New Zealand: the weather has been rubbish. What this means for a traveller like me: due to pouring rain, hail, snowfall, strong wind, rough sea/lake, thick mist, avalanche, earthquake, to name a few, i have not been able to do many activities that i was hoping to do!!!! (apparently this year's spring is more wintry than normally, 4 seasons in one day - those from England will know what i'm taking about) well, next time i will know not to come to New Zealand in spring, autumn or winter. My advice: go there in full summer! (unless you want to ski) NZ is abundantly green, i haven't seen that much greenery and lushness (and so many sheep) in my life ... read more
