Today we docked at Icy Straight Point. Icy Straight Point which is the waterway we arrived on was supposedly a port created by the cruise industry. Contrary to this this port which is actually a one mile walk to the tiny town of Hoonah is true Alaska. We only planned one excursion this day which is probably good since it was a very rainy cold day We stayed on the ship until about 10 and then

This morning we arrived in Juneau around 9am to partly cloudy skies. We quicky left the ship and caught a bus out to Mendenhall Glacier. The face of Mendenhall Glacier is only 12 miles from downtown Juneau. We hiked out to the closest point to the face and witnessed the power of Nugget Falls. During the hike we saw the beginning of the sockeye salmon run and a porcupine climbing up a tree The sal

We boarded the gorgeous Radiance of the Seas Friday July 27th. Once onboard we ate lunch then headed to our room which was just perfect. We had a D1 room in the middle of the hump. The rest of the afternoon we explored the ship and Dylin decided to swim. It was funny to watch her swim with the snow covered mountains in the background. The weather was so nice it was actually about 60 degrees. By s

While in Florida last weekend we took Mom and Dad to Crystal River to swim with the manatees. We had a blast swimming with a young manatee calf for over an hour. Our guide knew the calf as Baby Scratch.
