Day 0 - Travel Day We caught a flight from Syracuse to JFK to Portland on a Thursday afternoon. It was a long layover. So we took our time and ate dinner at Piquillo in Terminal 5. A pretty good beginning food-wise for our trip. In between, Sarah McLachlan was playing in the terminal hub - Sarah and JetBlue have teamed up to promote her new album according to what I've seen and read. Unfortunately, our flight from JFK to PDX was delayed almost two hours due to security concerns. Our plane had arrived from Jamaica and there was a delay in getting it to our gate. Greetings all! It's been a dream of mine to travel the country from West to East, and finally, it happened. The dream was to fly out to the West coast, buy a car, and drive it back. First the dream car was Mini Cooper - but considering what we needed a car for, it was not practical. We drove a Honda Element last year during the Cash for Clunkers deal, and came away impressed. So, this year, in consideration of our 25th anniversary, we decided to do it. We made arrangements to purchase a Honda Element in Portland, OR - my brother lives there, and spend some time with him before heading east.
