Yesterday was our last Chinese culture class as well as our last field trip of our time here. Today was the last class. Tomorrow is the final. Man how time has flown in the almost month that I have been here. Tomorrow marks 4 weeks that I have been in China. Such a crazy thought but so many memories and fun times have been had here.
Yesterday we went to the National Tea Museum/Tea Plantation. We learned all about the origin of Chinese tea drinking comes from and why it is so popular here. After that we got to sample a few different types of tea and they tried to sell us some afterwards. A lot of people got some but I figured that I didn't like any of them enough to spend that much money on it. Although the oolong tea was pretty delicious so i might have to look for some of that back home. Afterwards we got to walk through the tea plantation for a little bit before we had to head back, it was really cool to see.
This weekend is our last weekend in China so we are going to make it count! Some
of the people are heading up to Shanghai after the test tomorrow, and some of us are staying here for a few more days. On Saturday we are going to visit the Hangzhou zoo which is supposed to have a panda there (which is my absolute favorite animal so I am really excited about that). Then on Sunday the rest of us are headed up to Shanghai. There isn't a whole lot of stuff to do there so we figured we didnt need that long there. We're planning on going to the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum on Sunday once we get there and then staying overnight at a night hotel and heading out to the airport the next morning for the long flight home.
There are so many fun times here that I will never forget and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to go on this trip. Despite not knowing the language, we managed pretty well here and its definitely a place that I would come back to visit as soon as I could!
