Hoi An was very hot when we arrived! Had some food then went into the Old Town, which is right near our hotel and goes along to the river. Bought a ticket (quite expensive for vietnam!) and saw some of the sights, the Japanese Covered Bridget, Cantonese Assembly Hall, etc. Went to some of the shops, i got a dress made so went and picked it up later. They measured me and everything and they had heaps of catalogues of stuff to choose from. Its not heaps cheap but for what they do, and can make anything its pretty cool! and its what Hoi An is known for. If i had more money i'd go crazy! Came back to the hotel for a little while and relaxed, had a swim in the pool then went back into the Old Town.
Wandered around for a while, quite a relaxing chilled out place (apart from the usual harrassment to sell stuff from the locals). Had some pho - the vietnamese specialty noodle soup which is pretty good. The streets looked great with the lanterns lit up, and hundreds of shops selling colourful paintings, clothes, shoes and material. Came back to the hotel, went
on the net for a little while and then went to bed!
Got up the latest i have since the first day i got here (8am) and hired a bike. Rode to the Cua Dai Beach (about 5k's away) which was pretty nice. Not many people there, and it goes for miles. Has some awesome mountains in the distance with low clouds over them. Went for a swim then rode back to Hoi An. Marie wasn't feeling well so she didnt come.
Just have to wait for the bus to Hanoi (via Hue) first then it's a long journey! (16 hrs i think) but the sleeper buses are fine!
