1: Vietnam Traffic 34 secs
This will be replaced by the player.
Wow, what a city. I'm thankful that I'm slightly used to scooter traffic from my time in Taiwan, but this is not even close in comparison! The traffic here is just as entertaining as many of the sights to see here, and crossing the road is like playing a real life game of frogger.
we are staying in Ho Chi Minh city, formerly known as Saigon. Its a nice city with buildings that remind me of something you would see in Spain.
Our first day here were went to the market, where you can find some good deals if your able to handle yourself against the very aggressive vendors at the market. I've already bought a fake designer purse and a fake designer T-shirt! Everything is SO cheap!
That night we were able to meet up with Lisa and her traveling friend Kiera. We went for dinner then went to this super sketchy club called "Apocalypse now." The bar had tonnes of tourists, most of which where male in their late thirties. After being there for about an hour we figured out that a large percentage of the people there were prostitutes, and this maybe explained why there were so
many men there. The club was rough, crowded and unfriendly but an interesting place to sit on the back patio and people watch.
Yesterday we saw the War Remnants Museum . It was really eye opening and really sad. It showed pictures and other artifacts from the Vietnam war. Showing both the American and Vietnamese perspectives on the war, and photographs taken from each side.
We met up with Lisa again and just walked around district 1 ate some noodles and went for drinks.!
Today we saw the tunnels that the Vietnamese used during the war! Very interesting! They had very smart tactics and the holes were tiny!
The people here are friendly. The new generation says they look to the future and not the past with regards to the Americans here.
I still feel like their may be some resentment here for all the hard-ships that have been caused my foreigners, but for the most part it seems like they are moving on.
Tomorrow we go to Angkor Watt in Cambodia, then after that Thailand.
Till Next Time...
