after an 11-hour flight of screaming babies that sounded like alley cats on heat, and a window seat which was the best thing I could have done for myself as I slept like a rock given my 3 a.m. flight, I arrived in Hong Kong safe and sound. Departing quickly from HK into Viet Nam it was a little difficult to get myself organized; getting used to the money especially. But to make a long story short, I hopped into a cab which took me to the guest house I am in now: Duc Vuong Hotel. Very very nice and close to a lot of eateries and bars...none of which I have frequented as I am just beat from my day.
I checked into my room, organized myself, and quickly, or so I thought, went to conquer the city. If it wasn't for Kim, this motorbike rider guy who convinced me to hop on to take me around, I'd prolly still be outside my hotel wondering where to go. He took me EVERYWHERE! Jade Emperor Pagoda, War Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, a few other pagodas, the Saigon River, Chinatown, which is nothing like ours, bigger, and very impressive with all the goods they sell, and a few other places here and there. He drove me around, waited for me to take pix's, very nice man. and then I wrote in his book as all his "guests" did, and he took me back to my hotel. Then I went to some random place down the street to get some eats (a veggie tofu thing of sorts) and now I'm back at my hotel ready to shower in my all-in-one bathroom where nothing separates the toilet from the shower...hey I'm not complaining. At least I have my own shower!
But for all of you who were worried as I was, I am fine..haven't been eaten up by monkeys yet and I fly to Hanoi tmrw back to HCMC then to fly to Phu Quoc Island where I plan to lay like brocolli. My next update prolly won't be until I get to Seoul on my friend's computer.
I hope this finds you all well and I will update in a bit. Love lots and take care,
