Depending on who you talk to we were either in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) or Saigon. The official name is HCMC but the locals seem to still refer to the city as Saigon. Strange thing is we became instant millionaires once we arrived. That’s right, at most times we each have 2-3 million dong on us. Yep, the local currency is called the dong and I am pretty sure one of us has used every double entendre possible. Feel free to make up your own, except for Sully. By the way, Sully wins the award for most deleted comments on the blog.
Anyway, we spent 10 nights in Saigon and saw tons of sights, ate great food (Jason’s favorite is Pho), met fun people and were treated like rock stars by a group of local kids. They followed us around the Botanical Gardens asking millions of questions while practicing their English. Ho Chi Minh is a very walkable city but we did partake in one cyclo ride. Our driver was a 65 year old man who swore he could handle carting both of us around. He peddled us around with Lance Armstrong speed, and we thought all of this sightseeing
had gotten us in shape! This guy put us to shame.
There is a ton of history in Vietnam and it’s easy to see where the old world meets the new. Saigon is very picturesque; we had a great time enjoying the sights and sounds of the city.
We are on our way up the coast to Hoi An.
Ho Chi Minh CityThese kids made us feel like the main attraction at the Botanical Gardens/Zoo.
Ho Chi Minh CityFor those of you who trade currency...go long the dong never short it!
Ho Chi Minh CityWe could have taken a train for 30 hours and $30 or this boeing 777 for 1 hour and $50.

HCMC looks amazing. Please post more pictures of sunsets and rainbows. Especially when you get to Halong Bay.
you'll get to see Uncle Ho in Hanoi, head to his mausoleum! We never got tired of the dong jokes either. Although I've got about 2 million left on me that I never spent
What does entendre mean? Bullock maybe I should check in one of my books at home??
Looks like fun--
"No more yanky my wanky: "Donger needs food!!""
Sully finally got a quote on the big board! although I think I detect a note of sarcasm about the rainbows....
