After a hectic week travelling between Hanoi, Halong Bay and Sapa, Mike and I decided to have some rest in the beautiful old colonial town of Hoi An.
We spent 6 days there: getting clothes tailored (Mike is now really looking forward to his first day at work in his bran new tailored suit!), cruising around islands, bamboo bridges and the countryside in a rented motorbike (easy rider style!), chillin at various cafes including one named "The Sleepy Gecko", held by a Yorkshire man who had a lot of ranting to do about Americans, Tony Blair and the world in general... very interesting!
We also had an Asian cooking lesson with a Vietnamese/American chef: lots of dinner parties planned when we get back :-)
All in all it was a delightful week and if it hadn t been for all the good things we heard about the rest of Vietnam we would have stopped our travels there!
