Hoi An is quite a lovely town to walk through and explore for a day and the amount of tailors here is quite impressive (i have managed to get myself a bikini made so fingers crossed for later when i go try it on)...the actual town though as pretty as it is...i couldn't imagine staying in for long. It is definately worth a visit and wander around and i am sure there is plenty to do for a few days if it took your fancy (its built for tourists- not literally but i think there must be more tourists than locals) and its definately worth getting some clothes made if that is also something that interests you (or if you have a spare few dollars/dong)
There is a little weird moment here in Hoi An in that last night the river floods over its banks and floods the areas by the waterfront- this is without any rain, i am told that the river goes in one direction till a certain point and then returns direction which is why it floods (something along those lines any way). We had to walk through this to get out of the restaurant, only was about ankle deep at the time but very weird indeed...
The weather for South Vietnam does not look promising... We have managed to get booked on the bus for tomorrow night to Nha Trang as tonight is booked up...
Not sure what are the plans, we did talk about going on a bike ride to the beach here which is about 5km away and the weather seems to be fine here (At the moment)
Looking at the Easy Rider tour, it does look like a high possibility i will consider it from Nha Trang to Sai Gon but the big iffy moment goes back to the weather in that sitting on a bike for 8hrs a day in the pouring rain does not seem like such a great idea- it is still warm while it is raining though.
Will keep updated with anything else that happens...
Hope everyone is well there.
