Austin's birthday
el cumpleanos de Austin After a 5hr bus drive I made it to Mui Ne and checked in at Mellow guesthouse as recommended it by a fellow traveller. There I meet Paul the owner, and english guy who is a kitesurfer himself, and he recommended me a teacher, Steve from the UK. Whilst at the bar waiting for Tracy (who was arriving on a different bus) I meet a very nice Irish guy, Des, and after a chat, he invited us to his brother's birthday party that night at Snow.
After a very nice bbq lunch at Hoang Vu, I went to explore a little bit of this seaside town, and after seeing the beach and some kitesurfers, I knew I would stay here a while.
At dinner we meet a few other irish guys, Paul and Philip (more irish brothers), Liz, Austin (Des's brother and the birthday boy), etc. From there, we took the party to Wax (this place became my second home here) for a few drinks (and Sambuca's). We then bought a couple of bottles of vietnamese rum and took the party down to the beach until the early hours. This time the instigator of the skinny dip was Tracy (not me
Austin's birthday
Cumpleanos de Austin for a change), so Paul, Tracy, Des and I went for a nice swim under the stars.
The following day I went back to Wax to speak with Steve, the kitesurfer instructor recommended by Paul, and immediately my lessons started. We did a couple of hours on the basics, safety, getting the kite up and down, etc. It was awesome, and I think I can easily get hooked up on this.
The days at Mui Ne passed waiting for the wind at the beach by Wax, and doing lessons when the wind was strong enough and in the right direction.
We also meet Craig, and australian man also on holidays in Vietnam, and at the end I convinced him to do some kitesurfing lessons, as I was sure he would enjoy it as much as I did!
One night for dinner Paul took us to a goat bbq, where you actually cook it yourself. We also had Hot Pot, basically a big clay pot full of broth with a fire underneath, and you put the noodles and vegetables inside to cook. Everything was delicious.
My other favourite restaurant in Mui Ne was Lam Tong, where we were quite a few
The irish brothers - Des and Austin
Los hermanos irlandeses - Des y Austin times for lunch, dinner or breakfast. They also had there a little cute puppy that I wanted to take home with me, but didn't.
The day I did bodydragging by myself on the water was absolutely amazing, the wind is soo strong that a couple of time I flew over the water.
On the 19th it was Paul's birthday so for dinner we went to Lam Tong. As soon as the cakes came, people started dissapearing from the table, and when I looked back Steve was there ready to get the cakes on Paul's face, so I understood..cake fight!!! IT was pretty funny, seeing the big boys getting cake all over themselves. Then as usual we end up at Wax, bought a few bottles of alcohol and took the party down to the beach by the bonfire. But there the guys had another surprise for Paul...they throw him to the swiming pool fully dress!
Tracy left the following day, and I was very sad as she had been my travelling parter for the last 3 weeks, but I was sure I would catch up with her in Cambodia, Thailand or Australia for sure.
Unfortunately on my last days in Mui
Ne there was not enough wind or not in the right direcion, so I left Mui without fully riding, but I was going back to Thailand so I would continue my learnings there.
Renea and I left Mui Ne on the 25th and I was sad to leave this fantastic place behind and all the people I meet here, that I hope to see again sometime.
