Bye Bye Vietnam

Got back from my Halong Bay tour yesterday.. was really fun, had a good group of people with us. Accomidation was pretty basic, the first night the room was full of cockroaches and woke up with one crawling on me. Food was good the first day, but after 2 more days of seafood I was happy to come back to Hanoi and eat something that doesn't swim.

We're going to be heading South tonight, then tomorrow will hopefully be heading to Laos, should be...interesting getting there. But I'm excited to go to a new country and see new things, the people in Laos are supposed to be very very friendly so I look forward to that. I have loved Vietnam, despite getting conned, having things stolen and pretty much not being able to trust anyone.

I will miss the food, which has been very good, but I will not miss the crazy crazy traffic and the pushy motorcycle taxi drivers, who pester you no matter how many times you say no. It's funny how you start off so polite to them, saying "no thank you" then it turns into "no" then into "NO!" and eventually you just ignore them and keep walking.

Wish me luck on my adventure to Laos and will update in a few days.
