A place is recognized as World Natural Heritage Area only when it’s qualified for exceptional scenic beauty and outstanding geological and geomorphic values. Since Halong Bay being twice recognized by UNESCO with this title, it confirms the global premier value and deserves to be on the must-see destination list of any traveler.
Halong Bay, literally translated as “Bay of Descending Dragons”, is located in the northeastern of Vietnam, featuring in more than one thousand awesome limestone and islands of various sizes and shapes along Bai Chay’s coastline. The area where many stone islands and world-famous caves concentrate is the center of Halong Bay Natural Heritage, including Halong Bay and a part of Bai Tu Long Bay.
Viewed from above, Hạlong Bay is like a vivid spectacular drawing. With the genuine talent of the Creation, thousands of ugly stone islands turns into artistic sculptural works of various graceful shapes, making Halong Bay unique in the world. Inside those stone islands are various breath-taking caves, such as Thien Cung, Dau Go, Sung Sot, Trinh Nu and others. These are really magnificent palaces created by nature that can not be found elsewhere.
Once tourists come to Halong, a variety of activities is waiting to be discovered, such as kayaking, fishing, grotto visiting, local village seeing, rock climbing and others. Cruising is one of the most interesting ways of recreation there. Viewing from the junk, the Bay is beautiful like a water-color painting with the combination of blue sky, white sand and emerald water. Also, it is fantastic spending night on Halong bay junk, seeing the moon and listening to the wave moving. Or else, it can be a romantic idea to just enjoy the evening at the waterfront venues with Vietnamese coffee. Any way, in such a gorgeous setting, it is really not hard to have a memorable night and a fantastic trip.
All in all, Halong Bay is a place of mystery, which every time visiting, you may experience different feelings and emotions. With the perfect harmony between sky and earth, mountains and water, Halong Bay deserves to be “an essential stop for any visitor to Vietnam”
