So, after our last entry we, the Kiwis, and Steph (representing France) went to Battambang which continued to be unspeakably hot. Our room was actually 36.5 degrees at night. Needless to say, we paid the $2 extra and upgraded to an air conditioned room. It was glorious. Heat aside, we saw some neat stuff there, including a cave where the Khmer Rouge killed people, and the fabulous bamboo train.
The train consists of a platform of Bamboo sitting upon two axles that ride on the train track. The rear axle is rigged to a small engine that propels the whole contraption down the line at slightly disturbing speeds. It was awesome, and we had a blast. We then all went back to Phnom Penh, and spent a final night together before parting ways.
The next morning, Jenny and I went to the Toung Sleng Genocide Museum, which is the prison where the Khmer Rouge "interrogated" prisoners before obtaining confessions and having them executed. It was depressing, to say the least.
After that, we moved on to Vietnam.
We had an exciting bus trip on a "new, air-conditioned, minibus" which turned out to be none of those things. It took us about 5km from the border and then we were motioned (nobody spoke a lick of English) towards two motorbikes that took us across the border, and then into Ha Tien in Vietnam. It is always amazing how much things change when crossing a border, and Vietnam was no exception. All of a sudden the roads were paved, and the cars seemed more reliable, and prices went up. The first night in Ha Tien we had Pho Ga, which is a local beef noodle soup. It was amazing, some of the best food we've had so far.
In the morning we jumped on a really nice boat complete with life jackets, a fire extinguisher, and dvd player and headed towards Phu Quoc, and here we are!
We're just relaxing for a few days before we head to the panic of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)!

Yep. It was really easy and cost 190,000 VD or about $10 US. There are two boats one at 8ish and one at 1ish (I can't remember the exact time), but it is best to book the afternoon/evening before because they do fill up
