Yesterday (Saturday) we decided to check out the Chaturak weekend market, which is just like 30mins out of central Bangkok. nce again the actual journey there was part of the excitment. We thought we would take a taxi rather then took took as it was quite hot and the a/c would of been nice. He literally was mental. They will say any price to get you in the taxi and then negotiate when the car is driving so you cant get out. Luckily enough Im a stubbon person and negotiated us to a happy price.
When we got to the market we had to check that it was the right one as he did speed off, but in all fairness it was. It was massive. There was over 10,000 stools one after the over. Even with my amazing bearings we had no hope of finding a logical route round, so we pretty much just guessed. This is clearly where you (kim) could spend alot of money. There is no possible way you could see every stool in one day though so we became picky to where we stopped.
You could pick up everything here, from jewels, buddahs, sheets,
food, watches even pets?? Oh and of course converse, they love them over here!!! I found a tower of converse, but when I took a picture the owner went crazy they are obviously fake or stolen.
We were amazed to see that pets were sold here so openly. They were just in cage trays, so you could easily pick pets up and play with them etc. We got stuck in this area for about an hour. Pets would include, puppies, kittens, rabbits, rabiits in clothes, hedghogs, ducks, squirrels and mice. Lucky enough we arent in Uk as I got the feeling Kim would of been taking a whole tray back. Every so often when the dogs would get hot they would get dunked in a bucket of water. Some stools did look after the animals but some clearly didnt and it was slightly disturbing. Also when someone did buy one, you dont get a box or anything they just hand them over and you have to carry them around. As nice as they were, they werent anything compared to the tigers we were playing with the previous day.
We are heading north tonight to Chang Mai, a nice
12hour coach journey FUN!! But for 2.50pounds you cant complain. Were planning on spending a good few weeks up there as the is so much to do, from trecks to elephant riding, monkey schools, caves, meeting different tribes etc. I will keep you guys posted.

Was a little worried though about your last entry discribing the wonders of Chaturak weekend market.!! Im sure it would be a health & saftey issue if the traders were allowed to sells their wears on STOOLS!!!!!.......love it.
