well jessie and i are back from our adventure in pai, where we rented motorbikes, sat in hot springs, went to some coffin caves and became certified in thai massage. it was nice to get away and pai is the perfect place to relax for a few days. there was some definite characters in pai, most of them being foreigners would been there for awhile running their own shops or yoga classes or whatever; mainly the town has a lot of foreign influence, but it's nice and easy to extend your stay there; which i did by three days. Thankfully only three days as many people apparently extend their stay by a few weeks! Damn school!

The hot springs we went to were great, really hot, so hot that at the top i couldn't even put my foot in! about 80 degress celsuis. anyways they were about 8 kilometres from the city and it was jessie's first time on the motorbike and she caught on pretty quickly. so quickly in fact, that the next day we rode and hour and a half to soppong, a small town nearby to go to the coffin caves and to lod cave.
The entrance to the coffin caves was a small sign on the side of the highway with little dirts steps leading straight up about 800 metres to huges caves, apparently with ancient coffins. There was no one else there but us so we got to search around a bit! next we headed to lod cave, which was much much bigger. we entered the cave by raft, a man pushing us with a snake nearby which was enough to terrify me and then explored the huge rooms of the caves. it was pretty amazing.
the next day after the massage course, we headed to a nearby waterfall where all up the hill, there's people trying to sell drugs, mainly pot and opium. they just come out of the bushes as your turning the corner, with their hands to their lips, as if smoking a cigarette and say "ganga." every person we passed you could see it coming and i had to resist doing it back as they then would have followed us for awhile. there was even mom's and kids.
anyways that was basically the trip and maybe when i come back i can practice my massage skills on you! that's all for now
