So as of right now, its Tuesday morning and for some odd reason... my body woke me up at 7am today and I was actually excited to get out of bed early (and for me that is HUGE! I normally enjoy sleeping in till 12 pm everyday). And when I say bed, I really mean a thin flat mattress/mat, laying side by side to Claire and Bonnie's... and those mattresses fill up the entire hut. That's it! And did I mention that our hut is literally floating on the RIVER! YEP... its incredibly beautiful here and very peaceful. I'm hoping to see some river otters, but I'm not sure if there are any here in Thailand. Today we will hopefully see the floating River Market, some crazy waterfalls, and a limestone cave tavern... where we have to have a tourch guided tour! ohhhhhh yea... can u say Indian Jones!
So yesterday was our first day here in Kanchanaburi and it was ah-mazing! We went to Pha Luang Ta Bua Temple, which is a Buddhist temple and pretty much an animal sanctuary (www.tigertemplethailand.com). But their main objective is rescuing orphan and abused tigers and providing a good life for them...
and then we ate dinner and this really cool India resurant, and then went to the town festival! The local kids here are so funny, and while we were randomly walking down the dirt road into town I got attacked by one (meaning he came running after me laughing and sat his NAKED butt on top of my feet!) and then become surrounded by three others. Soon after my attack Claire and Bonnie were over taken by the dirty naked children and we were scared for our lives. NOT. It was pretty funny tho. We are still puzzled as to why these children wanted to keep sitting on our feet?
What I love most about being in a foreign country is the abundance of stray animals, and just animals in general. I feel so sheltered at home and feel like I rarely get the chance to interact with animals (other then my own of course). Welll let me tell you, I’m getting my fill here! AND LOVIN IT! Every day I meet and see about 20 new dogs, and here at the River Hut place I have one older Siamese cat, and two beautiful Flame Point looking kittens that

THE GREAT NEWS IS! I'm going to apply to volunteer at the Tiger Temple for the month of February, so hopefully they accept me! Every month they allow 4 girls and 4 boys to say at the temple and help maintain the grounds and live with the monks... so if they do accept me I will be with 7 other volunteers feeding the tigers, bottle feeding the babies, and swimming with them, along with a bunch of other animals every morning and helping with the tourist visits and photos, DAILY. SOOOOOO AWESOME! And I will be living with the monks and eating breakfast with them every morning!!!!!! Well.... this is all a possibility. If they accept my application! BUT I'M THINKING POSITIVE! :) And I spent some time during our visit talking with an Australian volunteer named Tim who decided to come for one month, but has now stayed a total of 11 months!!!! WOW! Anywho he's amazing, and is a MOUNTED police officer. That's right, I said mounted police officer... HE RIDES HORSES!!!! So right off the bat we hit it off and

Ohhhh! So we went to a LOCALS festival/fair last night after a delicious Indian dinner and I ATE A BUNCH OF GRASSHOPERS AND WORMS AND STUFFFFFFFFF! Fun fun fun. Good times! They actually don't taste bad at all... just some are crunchy and some are soft... They all have a sweet soy sacue'ish taste to em. HAHAHhahaha ha hah adkfdlhhaaa. The rest of the fair was this crazed event with people selling clothes, all kinds of food, games, etc etc. Some of the games included Sling Shot shooting rocks at glass bottles (ohhh yea), shooting little riffle looking guns that has bee-bees in em?, and eating things? HAHAHhaha no that was my game.
No rides unfortunately, I was extremely bummed about that... I really wanted to take a risk and ride one! HAHAAHhaha. Oh well. Next time.
